Dan innocently poses the greatest questions to the group, periodically. And it pains me that in this room full of "smart people", no one has the mental fortitude to match Dan's painfully towering wit and intellect to answer them.
jk. But "Can volcanos help a city's photosynthesis or something?" is a fantastic question, and the answer is a resounding YES! Volcanos are one of the best ways of making extremely productive and arable land – some of the best in the world. It's why places like Hawaii can not only grow plants, but export them worldwide because of their reputation for quality. [I don't actually buy the light scattering thing the chat said haha. Ash tends to block light – which you need for growing. But.. Maybe!]
Anyway. If we keep doing the same put downs of Dan, it gets boring. Play along sometimes, we might all learn something.
