Ugh…I got the olds…ADVERSITY, not diversity…come on Pete!
The word you're searching for is "adversity", not "diversity". Diversity is not something you're supposed to come back from.
24>Tomahawk ° Oddfellows , 6-year wait
Yes I saw Uriah Heep on the bill with Saxon and Judas Priest in Vienna this week. The new stuff rocks and they really looked like they were having fun.
Tina Turner Private Dancer
Day 7: Rush – Clockwork Angels
My pick for today is, Iron Maiden – Number of the Beast.
YES !!! YES!!
Definitely a keeper Wake The Sleeper
7. Iron Maiden – Brave New World
The Physical World from Death From Above 1979. Everyone assumed they were a one and done with Your a Women, I'm a Machine back in 2005 but they came back with their garage stomper in 2014 and have been releasing great stuff since then
I saw Uriah Heep open for Judas Priest back in 1983 – they put on a great show.
Their latest album (Chaos & Colors) will be at the house Tuesday, really looking forward to it.
Pick for today: Black Sabbath- ‘Heaven and Hell’
#24. Yes – 90125
Day 7: today is a band that will feature often this month I think, and this album also.
Criteria- change of band member, change of sound/direction.
Scorpions Lovedrive. This is such a great album given the loss of Uli. I prefer Uli era, but this, with the brief return of Schenker and the introduction of Jabs, is the sweet spot between the classic Scorpions sound and the downhill trajectory that began with Blackout; they made a conscious decision about the direction of travel, and it wasn't for the likes of me. But Lovedrive, I can, and do, play endlessly.
Hopefully, this won't be the only time we Heep on this list.
Great band!! Haven't heard all of their music, but I like what I've heard so far. My #7: Going with the 5th album from a member of one of the most popular bands on the planet, and a guy who had a great solo career as well. He's written some of the most timeless songs ever, both with the band and solo. This album was his first after a 5 year break to raise his son. So many great songs on this one!! Talking about John Lennon – Double Fantasy
Judas Priest-Redeemer Of Souls. It appears that Priest was about to end. They had to go on their Farewell Epitaph tour intending to bow out. However, before the tour could start, K.K Downing decided to leave. Since the band had already committed to a tour, they had to get a replacement. So, they got Richie Faulkner. Richie gave them a nice shot in the arm. So, they unleashed Redeemer Of Souls. Hard to believe that it turns ten this year. Co-produced by Mike Exeler and guitarist Glenn Tipton. With cover art by Mark Wilkinson. This one is a barnstormer. It's business as usual, with a few I've singled out. Halls Of Valhalla sounds doomy, like fellow Birmmies Black Sabbath. Sword Of Damocles has an operatic mid. Crossfire reminds me of Hendrix in some places. Secrets Of The Damned sounds mechanical, like Metal Gods. It even has a guitar solo that sounds like it could be a Guitar Synth. Beginning Of The End is an emotional power ballad. Creatures is another doomy track. Never Forget is an anthemic power ballad. Rob still sounds great.
LOVE HEEP !
Wake The Sleeper is a Monster album, love it.
Another great one is Thunder – Wonder Days
My choice for today is Voivod 'Target Earth' their first without founding member and genius guitarist Piggy, with Chewie keeping the six string madness going! What a comeback !..! !..!
I expected Uriah Heep to pop up, but I imagined that "Abominog" would make it into the list.
An absolute cracker of an album!
Great pick. It's noticeable how similar Bernie Shaw sounds to Bruce Dickinson at times.
Hey Pete! Which show will you be at next month?
