Dear Church Family,
Governing is serious business. And the truth of the matter is governing is actually God’s business. What most people don’t understand is that the Bible is not about a religion, but the Bible is actually all about a governing system called the Kingdom of God. The word of God tells us the story about a King, His Kingdom, and its citizens. Through its different stories and experiences the word teaches us all about who the King is, what His character is like, and what His citizens are called to be in response to who He is.
That being said, our subject of examination this weekend will be, “What is the best form of government? Is it communism? Is it democracy? Is it socialism? What form of governance is the best for humanity’s survival, growth, and for thriving together as a human family?” These are the questions we will seek to answer this weekend at Richardson SDA as we delve further into the Keys to the Kingdom series. Again, my purpose as your lead pastor is to share with you what I have discovered for myself from the Bible that makes God’s word come alive in my heart and mind. It illuminates the scriptures in a way that is most inspiring and incredibly invigorating. This week we will discover why God chose the governing functions of a Kingdom above any other form of government, and why it is most important that we do the same.
