The Gospel – Part 1 #fyp #explore #motivational #purposeoflife #christianity #jesus #godislove

There is good news and bad news. Let’s start with the bad news.

The bad news is that even if we commit just one sin… we go to hell. (Romans 6:23, Luke 12:5). That is because God is a holy God. (1 Peter 1:15). But all of us have sinned. So that means we all deserve to go to hell. (Romans 3:23). You and I might think we’re “good” people… but no matter how good of a person you and I try to be, we can’t go to heaven by our own good works. (Romans 3:10-12, 1 John 1:8). Our righteousness is like filthy rags to God. (Isaiah 64:6). And no one is good except God. (Mark 10:18).

It was not originally intended for us to have to experience death. In the beginning, God created the first humans, Adam and Eve. These first humans did not even know what evil was. So they were literally perfect and did not know how to sin. All they knew was how to do good. And God walked among them. It was basically heaven on earth.

But later, they were tempted by the devil and ate a fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil which God commanded them not to do. (Genesis 2:16-17, Genesis 3:6). This was the first time that humans disobeyed God and was the first sin ever committed by mankind. Because this happened, sin and death entered the world. (Romans 5:12). So now to this day, every human being is cursed with having to live in a body made of flesh that will eventually die. Because our fleshly bodies are cursed, our human instincts are to sin. That’s why going to hell is a human’s default destination, and why all humans need a savior to save them from going to hell.

The good news is that in the year 0, God so loved us that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to the world so that we don’t have to go to hell. Jesus came from heaven and was born of a virgin. (John 3:13, Matthew 1:23). Jesus is the fullness of God in human flesh. (Colossians 2:9, John 1:14). Throughout His entire life, Jesus went through every single struggle and temptation that a human could go through here on earth.

Jesus was INNOCENT and PERFECT. He NEVER SINNED. He let His own people (us) that He loved betray Him and put Him on the cross. (Matthew 27:22-23). He was mocked and brutally tortured by whips with iron hooks on them (Roman scourges). His body was deformed and unrecognizable. (Isaiah 52:14, Isaiah 53:5-6). Jesus (who is God) could have called an army of angels to destroy mankind in one second if He wanted to. (Matthew 26:53-54). But He chose not to.

On the cross, Jesus went through the most physical, emotional, and spiritual torture a man could go through. He carried the past, present, and future sins of all humans that have lived, were living, and will live on earth. (Hebrews 10:10-14, 1 John 2:2). Jesus went through hell so that we don’t have to go to hell. Jesus was a perfect sacrifice through the pure blood He shed. That blood is what allows our sins to be forgiven and washed away because blood represents life. (Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 9:22, 1 John 1:7). Blood represents life because no one can live without blood. (Leviticus 17:11).

Jesus Christ defeated the devil, sin, death, the world, and the flesh by dying on the cross and rising back to life. (Colossians 2:10, Colossians 2:15, Matthew 28:18).

The grace of God is God sending Jesus Christ to die for your sins to save you from burning forever in hell fire… and give you the gift of eternal life instead. (John 3:16, Romans 6:23, 1 Corinthians 15:3-8, Matthew 10:28, Mark 9:43-44).

You are SAVED and able to go to heaven by confessing and BELIEVING in your HEART that Jesus is Lord and that everything He has done for you is true. (Romans 10:9, Ephesians 2:8-9). Coming to truly believe in Jesus Christ will lead you to REPENT. (Romans 2:4, 2 Corinthians 7:10, John 14:15). To truly REPENT means to have godly sorrow that leads you to truly change your mind about your sinful lifestyle and live like you really did change your mind. (2 Corinthians 7:10, Romans 12:2, Mark 1:15, Acts 3:19, Matthew 3:8, James 2:17, James 2:22).
