Our bible reflection for today is taken from Psalm 89:2-3 which commences with a celebration of God’s unwavering love and loyalty, as clearly demonstrated through His covenant with David. The focus of this psalm is on God’s faithfulness. It serves as a reminder to the reader of God’s commitment to upholding this covenant. The psalmist pledges to sing about God’s enduring love and faithfulness. The opening of this psalm is a hymn of praise, highlighting the eternal nature of God’s goodness and truth.
Even if our expectations fall short, God’s promises remain steadfast in the heavens, rooted in His eternal plans. These promises are beyond the reach of adversaries in both hell and earth. By placing our faith in God’s infinite compassion and unending truth, we can find solace even amidst the most profound challenges. God’s compassion is unending, and His truth is unbreakable; these qualities should be the source of our happiness and gratitude. “I will forever sing of the Lord’s mercies,” expressing a song of praise in honor of God and a comforting melody for our own well-being. Throughout our lives, we must celebrate God’s mercies, inspire others to do the same after we depart, and aspire to continue singing in heaven for eternity. In this way, we truly sing of the Lord’s mercies forever.
