Disneyland is always behind in construction.
I agree with Drew about Disney's handling of the 2020 announcement for Tiana's Bayou Adventure. I felt that Disney dropped the ball when they rolled out what was replacing Splash Mountain. The timing was terrible as it looked more like appeasing certain people rather than being something for everyone to enjoy. At Disneyland, I think they have gone overboard with the concept — 3 shops, a restaurant and an attraction. I have seen Disney's POV and other videos of the ride and it seems to cater to one target group of people. I did not feel that it embraced anyone beyond their main target group. New Orleans is made up of more ethnicities (Native American, Irish, Italian, Gernan, etc.) than what has appeared to be Disney's target group. I'm sure that I'm not the only one left feeling this way.

My family and I are going to Disneyworld in a few months (Disneyland is our home park), and so my daughters and I watched the video of Tiana’s. They are 7 and 5 and LOVE PatF, as do I. We were so excited to see what the ride would be like only to be left feeling SO bored. The first thing they said was “why does Tiana look like that?” Meaning, she didn’t have her princess dress at all. Then they also asked where the frogs are from the movie, where is the prince, where’s the bad guy, etc. I told them this takes place after the movie and they just didn’t understand why it wasn’t the movie they know and love. I think Disney really missed the mark with this ride. I think it could’ve been fantastic, but it was just disappointing.
We will still probably try it out in person, but we aren’t excited about giving it a try at this point. 😢 Just bums us out!
