  1. "You can find predictability in what Player Safety does".

Sure… the predictability is in exactly how unpredictable it is. Look, you suspend the crap out players for their truly objectionable behavior, they'll stop doing it. No more $5000 fines, no more 1-2 game slaps on the wrist. throw the bloody book at 'em. Shanahan had the right idea. Parros is just Colin Campbell in a mask.

  2. Insiders are often largely useless because they want to stay insiders.

Here's the truth. Arizona is a terrible market. That team has never ever made one cent since relocating from Winnipeg.

This idea that Arizona is a good market is bullshit, or this would have stabilized 25 years ago. So stop bullshiting us in the interest of Gary Bettman's feelings.

Murello is a con man who doesn't pay his bills.

  3. Hopefully they will reintroduce visors being optional and not mandatory (for players that were grandfathered in with mandatory visors). I'm sick of Deslauriers, O'Brien, Englund, Rempe and all the others being forced to wear and fight with visors on. I'm sure given the option they would all drop the visors like a hot potato.

  4. Imagine if, instead of expanding playoffs nhl looked at European football and said let’s do that. Play each team twice. Once at home and once away. Winning the league would actually mean something! (Everyone faces the exact same opponent the exact same amount of times) a win is 3 points. An overtime/shootout win is 2 points with the loser getting his one point. You wouldn’t really need playoffs but you can still have them as a secondary trophy

  5. really good thoughts on Detroit. Thank you for showering us with comments or notes on how the team is playing and what you're hearing about the team. oh wait…. you have a whole segment about Detroit that was actually about Kucherov and MacKinnon…thanks fellas

  6. There is an absolute zero percent chance the NHL will return to Arizona … UNLESS they can find someone drunk enough and rich enough to lay down 2 billion dollars for an expansion team in a uninterested market and is willing to lose $20 million a year. 0% chance. Less than 0% chance if you ask me. Nobody is that drunk on this planet with that kind of money. Even the suggestion makes me laugh out loud. "It's a good market" … since when?? It has been a dumpster fire since they got the team. 🔥
I have seen dumpster fires that function better than the NHL in Arizona. Salt Lake City get ready for your NHL team.

  7. Let's talk player safety. Why did Matt Rempe get 4 games for a 1st offense elbow to the head of Siegenthaler when Dimitry Kulikov just got 2 games for the exact same type of hit on Connor Sheary? I see no difference and I see no legitimate explanation being offered. AND no, it can't be because Rempe did a little taunting/showboating as he was escorted out, or because he's been laying people out in his prior 9 games, etc. Honestly, I'm hard pressed to find a reason other than this is some payback for the whole Wilson/Panarin incident a few years back when Ranger management heavily criticized player safety.

  8. A day before the suicide of Chris Simon as a result of CTE, your glorification of hockey fights is disconcerting. There’s no excuse for it. Lots of hockey is played without fighting, but fighting in hockey sells tickets. It’s shameful.
