I love the river analogy in The Cloud, with Gardener, it puts me in mind of Heraclitus and his theorizing on change and becoming. The notion that we cannot step into the same river twice because even as it changes through constant flow so to do we, in our own ways, change with the passage of time and experience. The fact that this end can only be accomplished once – and then never offered again – really speaks to that philosophy.
Yikes on another difficult choice re: the refugees. Gotta love politics (/s).
I am glad Bliss turned out ok. I was a little nervous that whole thing would end up a bust.
Now that I'm home from work I'm catching up on Citizen Sleeper. I do love the idea of the "dissolve back into the cloud" ending, escaping from a failing body and freedom from the constant struggle to maintain it but without actually giving up – but I'm glad you didn't take it, so that we still have more playthrough to watch 😅
