The Future Of Electric Vehicle Charging? Tech Company Turns Streets Into Charging Pads

Off the coast of Sweden on Gotland Island, a road powers and charges an electric bus on the go – wirelessly. The technology was created by Tel Aviv-based Electreon, where they are turning streets into charging pads. It is currently being tested in Sweden, Italy, Germany, and soon on a one-mile stretch in Detroit.

  1. Oh, sure…. Even here in Canada, roads often are so potholed as to render them painful to drive on. So making each kilometer of road cost HUNDREDS OF TIMES more than before to pave and maintain is absolutely not (sarcasm) a recipe for disaster/ wasted money.

  2. We're don't need every road to be equipped without tech, only certain roads and possibly certain freeways to accomplish this. It's totally possible and the tech is only going to get better so investors listen up". If you have the means to invest" do so, because this is a good money back investment, And a long term one. It's gonna take a generation to convert roads all over the world to this technology. After that it's trains and rail roads.

  3. It's good to see that the amount of industrial emissions it will take to produce electric vehicles and these charging systems will equal or exceed the emissions of the electric vehicles themselves. Brilliant!

  5. Have a direct connect to the axle of EVs,and solar, to super charge them any time you move. Why isn't anyone doing this? No more plugging in. We could do and be so much better. Why aren't we?

  6. Combine self running generators and power walls in homes and businesses for seemingly endless clean energy everywhere all the time. Imagine billions of clean energy sources all running themselves the items around and the power grid.😎⚡

  7. Or…100% solar powered cars. Would be a whole lot easier & we already have the technology for it. They first made them about 10 yrs ago…then the govt refused to accept them bc it would make gas industry bankrupt.

  8. Whole thing about electricity is it's generated from the sun, so why we have to pay of course taxpayers money funds the roads, bridges in our cities and States. So why would you be charged for free energy One of the biggest things about going green is It stops pollution and it's free. If it's not cheaper you may as well keep fossil ⛽️ ⛽️ Electricity is cheap till it's not greed takes over

  9. My concern would be the electrical exposure ie what if someone with pacemaker drove over it? Studies have shown problems arising in households and agriculture too close to electrical substations etc

  10. This smell like solar roadways. First issue, how is the pay system going to work? How will it know if you paid to recharge, I'm going to imagine the flow of electricity will be always active since other cars will be using it. Second issue is no old ev's can use it and new ones will have to make room in an already occupied spot for the coil, adding to the overall weight decreasing range. It's a great idea and not the first attempt at it but still way to soon here in the US to invest in that. We first need a power grid that can handle that kind of demand and we are many years away from that.

  12. Think it is time Governments take over energy companies and run them with tax payer money to provide electric at no cost to us only the taxes we pay…. Time to do away with energy bills otherwise what is the point in government, why do we allow a tiny group of people to make billions for something we all need when we can just do it ourselves…
