I take this movie as a misguided attempt at combining "Evil Dead 2" bloody slapstick horror, "Ghostbusters" and any 1980s suburban kids movie.
"Can we talk about Milton?"
"The strangest character in a movie"
Ahhhh, welcome to the brilliance of Jeffrey Combs. Please watch Re-Animator, From Beyond, House on Haunted Hill, which he plays in!
Also, he's amazing in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and voicing Scarecrow in New Batman Adventures and The Question in Justice League Unlimited.
Enjoyed your reaction, as usual. You two are fun to watch with. I really like this movie, it's creative and unique, and I find it a lot of fun, although I agree it's definitely horror. My favorite horror comedy is actually Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, one of the best ever imho, but I believe you've seen that one. Dead Snow is worth a watch, and I liked Dead Snow 2 even better, but it's really over the top; they're both directed and co-written by Tommy Wirkola, who did Violent Night and Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters.
Regarding Michael J. Fox movies, my favorite is actually Secret of My Success, a classic 80s business comedy. Great soundtrack. FYI, the secretary, Jean, is played by Carol Ann Susi, who played Howard's mom on Big Bang Theory, and one of the execs (Ron) is played by the now voice of Patrick in SpongeBob.
Another Michael J. Fox Movie is "the hard way" from 1991. AWESOME movie. Death Becomes Her from 1992 by Robert Zemeckis,
Finally someone is watching it ๐๐
A good film with Michael J. Fox and little talked about, I recommend Casualties of War, a drama and outside of the comedies that MJF made
Loved the reaction guys. This has always been my favorite Michael J Fox movie, it's creepy and hilarious.
I always felt that the comic and the horror elements in this movie tend to undermine each other. For movies that are both genuinely terrifying and very funny at the same time, I recommend both versions of Fright Night, especially the 1985 original, and Roman Polanski's The Fearless Vampire Killers. All are vampire movies, and all are wonderful.
'THE HARD WAY,' 1991.
A fun silly MJF movie is Teen Wolf.
American Werewolf in London isn't a comedy?
๐
When I first watched this with my friends, we had pretty much the same reaction. We thought we were watching a ghost comedy movie and instead we got a much different horror movie. I liked the way the movie was made but the plot switch really threw me off.
After buying a bunch of computers to work on the CGI for this movie, Peter Jackson didn't want the investment to go to waste, so he decided to adapt Lord Of The Rings. Kind of a jump there. ๐
When did people become allergic to say H๐alloween season?
trying to get the star trek actors in my head (besides JeffCombs) is confusing me without IMDB
๐ซ The scariest thing about this movie is jake buseys face
I'm pretty certain the Russian serial killer Bartlett was referring to is Andre Chikatillo who has 53 confirmed victims.
Love Jeffery Combs performance as the FBI agent in this.
I would recommend "The secret to my success " and "Doc Hollywood ", two good comedies with Michael J Fox. Also the drama "Bright lights, big city".
This is a Peter Jackson movie, pre The Lord of the Rings. You should try some of Peter's earlier movies, such as Meet the Feebles, Bad Taste or Braindead.
Another really great black/horror comedy I never see recommended is Sightseers (2012). It was made by a lot of the same behind the scenes people who made the Cornetto Trilogy, the 2 leads were also in the Cornetto Trilogy. ps. The Frighteners is rated r because of the scene in the hospital near the end.
Jeffrey Combs is so damn good in this movie!
Doc Hollywood is an ok Michael J Fox movie
Hope you will react to Braindead (Dead Alive) by Peter Jackson. ๐
That is masterpiece. Love it. The music is excellent. Dark humour at is best.
This movie is Fantastic! I loved it when it came out. And yes I think it's funny for sure and brilliant!
I love this film I went to see this at the cinema when it came out. Peter Jackson roots are in horror films, if you want more Michael J Fox films try The Secret of My Success that one is a comedy honest.
The movies that made Michael J. Fox a national treasure: Teen Wolf (1985), The Secret to My Success (1987), Casualties of War (1989), and Doc Hollywood (1991). Special mention: Bright Lights, Big City (1988).
If you want a genuine coedy horror do Poultrygeist Night of the Chicken Dead
This movie was released just three years after Jurassic Park, and the CGI effects look amazing.
21:57 Those random chills is when ghosts are near you – Happens a lot with The Frighteners (1996) – Ghosts love that movie – There are probably 3 or 4 behind and beside you watching the flick
I LOVE this film!! I was so excited when you mentioned this in your community post! Nobody reacts to this underrated film. Well done you two! ๐๐ผ
for 96 it's a comedy for kids
Looking at that poll, you MUST react to the People Under the Stairs!!! That film is the definition of underrated. Also, the Monster Squad, Creepshow, Killer Klowns from Outer Space should also be watched someday. And PLEASE watch the โ88 remake of the Blob.
If you want to watch another Michael J. Fox film, then you HAVE to watch Teen Wolf. You literally HAVE to.
Micheal J. Fox -> Casualties of War
Great Vietnam War drama
does the murder of the mother count?
This and Dead Alive (Braindead) are Peter Jackson's best.
