"The Fleet Departs" Fishing boats deploy from Duluth 09/14/2023

The crisp morning air carried the sound of boats departing through the canal for a day of fishing. The sun had just risen, casting an orange and pink glow across the sky. Seeing the fishing fleet leaving the port of Duluth, ready to release their lines and bring back their catch was a beautiful sight.
The calm seas will likely produce a memorable experience and more than enough fish.

  1. First, Beautiful scene, the morning sun glinting off the smooth-as-glass surface of the lake, a beautiful Fall day
Secondly, great coordination/respect. Fleet gathers at a set time for ONE bridge opening. Leave some Muskie/Walley for us !

  2. It is really nice to see the coordination between the lift bridge and the boaters to try to lift the bridge only once to allow many smaller
boats under out into the lake. That way traffic is stopped once not every few minutes to let the boats through one at a time.

It also has to use a lot of power to raise and lower that lift bridge. Lifting the bridge only a few times a day saves electric power and aggravation
    to the vehicle traffic.
