Makes me think of how little I knew of my dad. He spent 4 years in combat all across Europe and rarely spoke of it. They were a generation of themselves. Coming out of the Great Depression, they were tough as nails.
Best mini series ever made. Watched it at least 15 times never get bored of it. “Captain Sobel. You salute the rank, not the man” best line in the whole series. And a I still well up every time right at the end when Major Winters said he served with a company of heroes
