The “Elden Ring is NOT Worth $60” opinion

Over the past week, there has been some drama on Twitter surrounding Elden Ring and other upcoming next gen games. The comparison between Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West triggered a large misunderstanding. A fringe group of individuals argued about whether or not Elden Ring is enough of an improvement over Dark Souls 3 to warrant the $60 price tag. The argument stems from the reused gameplay animations in Elden Ring from DS3. We discuss why the vast majority of these people are incorrect.

  1. Caring about graphics is one thing, caring about ONLY the graphics is a whole new other thing. I’m gonna play devils advocate here and blatantly say, if you’re one of those ppl who only cares about graphics in a video game, you’re not a real gamer and you’re just here riding the wave to the next flavour of the month. All those examples of ppl in the video are just some (I don’t even wanna say the term but I’m gonna have to) Sony ponies who are LITERALLY just jerking each other off. These are prob the same ppl that went after alloy in the teaser of the new horizon game or tried to defend on how she looks. These are the type of ppl that will NEVER be pleased in gaming, “fake” gamers that can only bitch and moan to their Reddit friends and mods so they can be the first ones to openly shit on a new game and maybe they will be right. (inb4 some mongoloid coming into my comment and tries to use garbled non sense to back up their “claims”)

  2. I don't know why so many people think that every game should strive to be the best looking one. Soulsbourne series never had breath taking graphics. But they were always good if not very good looking. Sure it's no GoW or TLoF2 but it's still nice considering what type of game this is. A hard game where you're not hand held 24/7 and a game where lore and story are shown to you only if you want to. Like listening close to the NPCs for Places,Clues,People,Weapons etc… and reading item descriptions that uncover the past. Anyway, who ever reads this, have a good one.

  3. Actually that guy is wrong. It’s more attack, dodge or block or jump and attack again or use a spell or summons. Jump hasn’t been apart of dark souls games other than the run jump but that never helped with combat just trying to get to different places in the game

  4. WTF and fucking Mario 3D world is worth $60?, Animal Crossing is worth $60? Skyward Sword REMASTERD is worth $60? The question should be is Horizon worth $70?, at this point reviews are out, if they wanna give it game of the year because we all know “diversity” and “social justice” i don’t care that much, I’ll be living at the lands between until they drop the next game or they remake Kingsfield III the lost city

  5. Did this really need a video… silly.

I can't believe you spent time, resources, editing and uploaded this because a few people whined.

Have you not discovered a key element of life yet? There will always be trolls.

    Yet you feed them.

You giving these people attention in some ways is more idiotic than their comments.

  6. I’d rather see my 60 bucks on 120 hours of gameplay than on graphics. If you want to look at something nice-looking, go touch some grass or watch nature documentaries

  7. "it's open world dark souls" cool. So from is doing what they do best. And expanding on it. I don't care if it looks like souls 1 or 2. If the mechanics are advanced I'm all in

  8. One of the biggest misunderstanding I think, is that From Software should have bothered to change animations that didn't need changing when they had so much else to work on that was more important. They clearly don't understand how large in scale Elden Ring is if this is the best excuse they can come up with.

I also don't understand how in the hell playing a game with more advanced graphics makes other games unplayable or disappointing, that's some interesting priorities. I still play ps1 games from time to time and still love them. In fact I even like how some ps1 games look better than some ps4 games I've seen just based on art style alone. Graphics don't mean a whole lot and those who care so much about current graphics imo are shooting themselves in the foot with a double barrelled shotgun.
