On Saturday, AFC Bournemouth welcome Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United in what is dubbed the “Eddie Howe Derby”. The match is a tale of two managers – one riding a successful wave with a club on the rise, the other, standing on the precipice with a loss being potentially fatal for his Bournemouth career.
In this preview, we’re joined by Cherries goal-scoring, history-making hero – Ted MacDougall – a man whose names adorns the South Stand – and someone who gives his honest thoughts about the current situation at Dean Court, as well as his candid views on Eddie’s REAL potential at Newcastle United.
We also speak to @AdamPearson1242 and get his thoughts ahead of the game, plus Tom Jordan gives us his team predictions too.

Great comments Ted
Could listen to this interview again and again
I love this interaction between Sam and Ted. We'll done to both of you for an interesting insight in to Ted's past.
Nearly 80 but still sharp and articulate views from the legend Teddy Mac.. if only our fan base had the same positivity and team picked off the vibe. Great interview Sam
Great to hear from Ted and he is so right about needing to have some positive attitude tomorrow I was at Newcastle for that last win left Bournemouth by train at 6am got back at 3am next morning tired but 😊 That first win for Alec Stock was against Doncaster and yes I was there Game will be starting at 12 30 here in Thailand and I will be watching at home UTCIAD
Fantastic work Sam and ted supper ted let’s go behind the boys let’s go up the cherries 🍒
Hope for 3 points for Newcastle I'm saying 3-0 toon
Hi guys! Newcastle fan here. This is such an honest, professional non-toxic footie channel (unlike some others)
Ted:
"Nice guy & I've seen some stuff on him. He's a dirty bastard" 😳
Sam:
"very wily but good, good player" 😄
Good stuff lads 👏
The original SUPERMAC!!!!! 🍒🍒🍒UTCIAD
So looking forward to game later as a Geordie boy living in Bournemouth I think Eddie will be as diplomatic as ever same with Callum Wilson both have a lot of respect for Bournemouth…. it's Mad Dog Tindall who makes us Geordies laugh what a legend 🤣
Was a Bournemouth v Margate game on a rainy Saturday when Bournemouth won 9 -0 and Ted scored 9 goals
Or was it 11 I think it was
Adam P pops up everywhere! He's one of our own
I totally agree that it is not Gary's fault, but the Board and that where the anger is really towards
Just feels such a waste of an opportunity but hopefully things will get better
Newcastle fan here, really enjoyable podcast. A real credit to you guys. Good luck for the season
I feel so privileged standing in the Ted Mac stand after listening to him on the pod. He speaks so much sense with the positivity he encourages, I will never boo the team no matter what the results. We need Ted to give a team talk before the game, so inspiring. Up the cherries 🍒🍒🍒
I’d be surprised if Traore drops to the bench. I’d be disappointed if Billing starts ahead of Rothwell. Rothwell deserves a run of games. I’m tired of watching Billing disappear in games. It’s like playing with 10 men when he gives up the fight. He had a good first half last match to be fair, but when the chips are down he needs to either fight or be replaced early.
Hopefully Solanke is back, not the same team going forward without him.
Desperate for a win and it’s now or never. 2-1 to Cherries. Wilson bound to score.
C’mon lads, fight for it! UTCIAD
This is an excellent interview, well done, Sam. And I'm taking Ted's words to heart. I think Cherries could just sneak it this evening, and surprise all those Match of the Day pundits…
This just popped up in my recommended. So glad I clicked on it as this was a very good and insightful watch. Very well put together, well done 👍🏻
Big up from the ton. Good luck today. Not to much luck tho haha
Newcastle fan grat show 👍
What a great interview 👏 Ted is a fascinating, entertaining, knowledgeable guy. I hope he gets to meet up with Eddie & Mad Dog. HOWAY THE LADS! 🖤🤍

Great to see Ted looking so a true
Great to see Ted looking so well and so positive about the Cherry's. Ted was the best center forward I ever seen for the 🍒. The best goal he ever scored was a diving header against Aston Villa. Up the 🍒
Well done Sam. What a brilliant interview. Loved Ted’s honesty, what a legend, he’s a wise man and a great character
