One of my most favorite series, sad that it's ending
If there's a dude who's too scared to even touch a weapon why would you bring him to come fight a demon.
Second if they believe in demons then they're probably Christians and Christians that time would have taken great comfort in the fact that God was on their side making the main character sound like an atheist which would have been highly unlikely during that time period
