  1. Davenport played for Minnesota last year, was hurt early in the season and missed both Lion games. They know him from his days in N.O, had his best season I think while Campbell and AG were there

  2. Hutchinson plays at an elite level, that is why he keeps getting double and triple teamed, but not even superman needs help sometimes. Aiden cannot continue to be the only pass rusher without help…. We need Maxx Crosby who we have a leg up on when he becomes a free agent.

  3. They will draft a dline guy for sure. He also mentions that it’s just nice to be able to get anyone and not need them to be a starter right away…. I think he was just saying he things Davenport is good enough to start and hopefully MCDC and the staff can coach him into this because I am there with you. I don’t really see what they see but we lost what both okwara’s and Charles Harris? And only picked up Davenport, and betts. I’m sure they want more competition in that position. Personally I’d love to see us get Braden Fiske if he is there in the 2nd or 3rd

  4. I knew would be all offensive draft and defense in free agency. Smart in my opinion. They will probably get another guy or two on defense in free agency and maybe one or two middle to late rounds.

  5. Maybe I'm being to positive but I'm an optimist so I'm ok with that. With that being said I'll simply say that where the Lions are now in comparison to where they were after the Quintricia nightmare has earned my trust and just a little bit more patience. DC & BH are unconventional but so far it's working so I''m not going to spend much energy worrying about the 2024 season in March or April.

  6. We got the guy from Canada, Houston coming back, plus Davenport, plus the draft. Lots of possibilities there I dont see much reason to add more free agents. Save the money and extend the sun god.

  7. Here's one that's under the radar, Will.

I texted my guy in Cincy about DJ Reader about a week ago. From what my guy shared, Tim O'Neil and his staff might as well start stitching the "C" on that soon-to-be unveiled, spanking brand new Lions jersey #98.

Because newly-acquired DJ Reader's going to be the Captain of the D. 🦁

  8. I believe that the Lions will use a rotation at the edge, and see where it goes from there. Betts or Paschal will be coming out this season. Davenport is just part of the rotation. Hopefully he shows that he was a good choice.

  9. If you really believe that, the Lions are gonna look for a safety in the draft please let it be James Williams out of Miami, he’s 6‘,5“, 215 pounds, he’s a multi-roll beast.
Please get rid of the JG fat head. It makes me sick to my stomach! He’s a product of an elite offensive line, with elite offensive talent around him.

  10. It's Lying Season. Will, you're a researcher. Have you looked into statements made in the past (this time of year) against what they actually did? Maybe you remember, but I don't. Dan and Brad are good poker players.

  11. What is it about this regime that likes bringing on often injured players and expecting them to actually play out?

Davenport will not play all season. He's proven that time and time again if you look at him wrong he'll get hurt.

You'd better address edge again or you were going to end up biting it again.

Do not waste your time on a guy who has yet to play an entire season since he got drafted.

  12. Completely disagree with everything….I am so glad Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell are making decisions…..Reader himself is a great pass rush help as he goes after the QB relentlessly and also blocks 2 Offensive Linemen. Davenport was superb in a scheme, before injury. Houston and Betts have shown when one on one, they are excellent pass rushers, which will be the case with Reader and McNeil in the middle and Hutch on the other side!!

  13. Detroit Lions came within 30 minutes of going to the super bowl 20 years of not breaking 500 . . . Pass rush and coverage are hand in hand a coverage sack is a 50/50 between both parties and this team has made adjustments and still hasn't even gone into the draft and yet is a far better team already than it was last year on paper and yes I know on paper
