Iam not happy with Mr Toads Wild Ride they should NOT have Hell at the end of the Ride when we go to Disneyland we are not supposed to be there for Hell, let's not forget Hell is not an Amusing place as a Separation from God a place of Torment is this the kind of Thrill that we should be showing kids? And Hell has nothing to do with the Wind and the Willows if you watch the Movie Toad didn't go to Hell and he didn't die he was in Jail and thats what they should do they should change the Ride and have it as a prison ending

You kind of skipped a step, which is completely forgivable, but even Satan wasnt originally a christian creation, coming from an interpretation for the jewish word for angel basically. The character satan is even a fabrication in a similar way the idea of demons were.

In 1592 Germany was not unified it has the Holy Roman Empire (which has nothing to do with the Roman Empire. It was in modern day Switzerland, Czechia, Germany and probably Poland

What the hell? (sorry, had to) This Mr. Toad video is actually one of the most lucid and concise primers on the origin of modern "devil" mythology I've come across. I might be able to help make a connection between Pan and the devil depictions. Never though about this before, but one of the big “heresies” that threatened the Christian church’s theological consistency in its early centuries was Gnosticism, a belief that there is some form of “God” in all people and even some nature. There are clear historical ties to pantheism, the belief that there’s divinity in all of nature. Pantheism, quite obviously, gets its name from Pan, the god of nature. So it makes sense that early Christians would associate one of the biggest theological heresies that’s partially connected to Pan with the devil. Hence horns and tail and hooves translating to Christian devil imagery.
Haven’t done all the research required for that claim, just drawing on personal knowledge. Still seems worth considering, at least.
