  1. Our list for Halloween contains Fury of Dracula, Camp Grizzly, Set a Watch with an appropriately themed monster deck and Arkham Horror. And a round of Horrified if we can squeeze it in before we start with the movies.

  2. I think kingdom death won, because I know who actually won and I want it to not be that because i am still salty about it.

Edit: I appreciate the sentiment, Chris. Also snallygaster should have won if it wasn't KDM, though I would have accepted final girl. Good thing I don't like spooky stuff.

Edit edit: oh, wait, final girl won? Neat, I thought it had lost.

  3. The Snallygaster Situation and the Bloody Inn are the 2 I had not heard of and now really want to play. They both look like games that will provide a lot of fun moments.

  4. There are another 2 reasons to join the Room and Board Patreon too. 1) Voting against games Chris owns, and 2) voting for games you know he dislikes. Though Chris really does take it in stride, and makes some great content about it!

  5. To me Deep Madness is the clear winner.
Machina Arcana would also be in my top for horror.
I love Cthulhu DMD but its punch Cthulhu in the face not horror.
Nightcage is solid but a bit abstract.
Arkham Horror 2nd has a few set ups that work quite well as horror. But add to much and it feels more adventure than horror.

  6. 7:06 You see, I HATE that there are 2 completely different sets of rules – and that things are chaotic to the point where nobody know what is going on in the game. I also hate being the one that needs to go away to read the traitor rules all by myself. At least with the other rules, there is safety in numbers and you can talk about your strategies, which you inherently cannot when you are the traitor. Also, I don’t like the repetitive dice rolling. It is not very interesting mechanically.

  7. I dont get it? From which Time Zone are you Talking? If this Tournament is not about the result, but to make viewer curios and exciting about Games, what the Point in it, if the Games got burned and vanished for all Time? So you want us to suffer, because we never could get a games you just made us curious about? That’s seems to me the real Horror Game here!😊

  8. I loved Atmosfear! I still have all four of the original games (technically can still play them as kind people have uploaded the videos here so you don't need a VCR) plus the Mummy DVD game. I never had The Harbingers so you've just inspired a slight bit of eBaying.

(Also no love for Ghost Stories or Vagrantsong in the list? Super pumped Final Girl won though, great game)

  9. Mansions of Madness advice for the busy 🙂 Start playing 2nd Edition MoM with the free app. Later, if you wish to include the 1st Edition in the "My Collection" section of the app, the app will incorporate 1st Edition components like map tiles into the 2nd Edition scenarios. No need to learn 1st Edition rules/scenarios.

  10. I still have AtmosFear: The DVD Board Game. It's a tough one to get played. It's embarrasingly bad, but in a fun way. On the plus side, since it's the DVD version, my copy won't burn in the fires of competition, right?

I expected Final Girl to do well just because every aspect of the game feels so thematic. I'm not too creative, but I can still picture a movie scene playing for each turn. They played onto all of the horror movie cliches so well.
