The Darkest Dawn

The Darkest Dawn is a COVID-inspired contemporary anthem honouring the first ANZAC Day.

Acknowledging the innocence and sacrifice of those young men who ran up the beaches at Gallipoli that fateful morning, the song also laments humanity’s call to war. Further, it reflects the emotional connection Australians and New Zealanders feel towards our ANZAC heritage.

Written by Joh on that first ANZAC Day in lockdown more than 100 years after the ANZAC landing, she found herself reflecting on what that morning must have been like. Simply unimaginable!

She had a vision of the arrangement including the unique and mournful sounds of bagpipes and didgeridoos. So she was delighted to find Stewart from Crash Symphony Productions who she knew could help bring her song to light.
