So the thing that would intrigue me more than anything on that “map” is the section labeled “The Valve”. What does a valve do.. it either allows the flow of something, or stops it. Now back then, a valve could be something like stacks of wood that could be raised or lowered. The Valve could also represent an opening, or starting point, which would be ideal for right next to a road/path, which by the map looks like it is.

Oak Island is one of History channels money makers! I feel like this could go on for another 12 years, all these "permits" and this and that.. for crying out loud just dig where ever you think the treasure is, they got some of the largest underground fallout shelters/bunkers, got the Kola superdeep borehole which is the largest man made hole, JUST DIG IT UP ALREADY!!! HOW HARD CAN IT BE??? FINDING A PLANK PER EPISODE IS DRIVING ME NUTS!

These guys have gotten so tech-oriented I'm surprised they haven't used ground penetrating radar to find the The Hatch and similar features. The other thing obviously lacking is a lidar survey of the island. Early spring before the vegetation fills out would be the best time to do that.

When you're pulling up that much wood some type of shaft I would send down a sonar to see if there's any cavities
Each time you bring up some type of wood I think the best thing to do is turn down the sonar get a reading from it see what it comes up with that'll get you closer to what you needed to be instead of poking and hoping and guessing the sonar will tell you everything it'll probably lead you right to the treasure

Why do they stupidly keep referring to the VALVE, which is in the middle of the western half of the island by the center road at the lower end boundary between lot 4-5, as the HATCH, when the “hole under the hatch” is clearly marked on the old map as being in the Northwestern corner of the Island ? Is there some kind of a brain freeze glitch going on since they spent several episodes correcting and explaining the badly translated French map several years ago yet continued to keep the error as gospel ?!🫤
