By the way he waves that coil around it is seems the metal detector expert could use some more expertise. You want your waving of the coil to slightly overlap your previous wave. This means travelling at a rather slow speed to be sure not to miss signals. It is hard to see that he is using any form of gridwork to maximize his metal detecting pattern.
