We went on it 3 times today and loved it, we sat in different places each time and saw different things each time, no waiting time, straight on and we got an epic picture, it will be soooo good at scarefest ๐๐๐ฅ actors were still there aswell adding to the atmosphere๐
Oh and then i tried to find the train you showed in a video that takes you round the park and then realised after trying to find it thats at blackpool lol ๐ doh ๐
Rode it 3 times yesterday, taking in different details each time – such a good ride, really impressed with the reimagined ride experience. Sadly no smoke working in the queueline but loved the gravestones including the refurbished ones from the Haunted House days.
The ride looks good of I could still go on rides camt do to mobility issues now I would do go on that ride love rides like this
Its good but in some parts the car goes to fast and you cannot view everything and needs more projections
I dont mind the dark areas because so much thought has been put into the theming and so many details have been put in that the dark areas dont feel out of place for me
l broke down on the spinning tunnel
im currently on my way to alton towers, plus im wearing my velocicoaster shirt ๐
Most of it in the dark looses the story imo, definitely overnhyped. Fact on a bank holiday weekend it was never more than a walk on says it all…
I am riding tomorrow
I absolutely love the curse but there are some big loses from the haunted house such as the flying demons in the main hall that would offer great jump scares due to how dark the manor is
Went today they have a new curse mug its a colour changing when warm it looks fantastic and very good i brought one
Rode this today. Fantastic review agreed with everything you said.
What the ride was there before the curse of manor ride
Finally got my chance to experience this Twice today! And it was brilliant!… However, as for best dark ride in the UK… I don't agree just yet sadly. But I think it has a LOT of potential and is 100% without a doubt the best Iteration of The Haunted House I've experienced.
The soundtrack in both the ride and Queue is fantastic… However I felt the on-ride soundtrack was a little too quiet to hold any impact. I found it difficult to hear what Emily was saying, which I've not heard talked about by many others. Understandably, these rides have a lot of teething issues, so it's possible that could've just been for my visit. I also understand that Alton Towers want this to remain a family ride. But I only jumped once, and I think that's a bit of a problem considering I jumped more when it was Duel…
I really did not like the use of Screens. They just don't look realistic at all, and combining that with all of the practical effects just made me appreciate the practical effects more. I think HEX still does this just a little better. They can't really do much about this… But it doesn't harm the experience much for me.
I love, the projections. They work incredibly well, and it's the perfect kind of horror for families! But by far the best part of the ride for me, was that incredible Mirror Scene! It got me good! I also completely agree the dark whispering scene was a bit dull. Needs more lighting, or more directional audio. It would be 10x more effective if the whispering was closer to your ear.
My absolute main, criticism is the Photo Point… Not a soul looked like they were enjoying the ride on the photos, including myself. (I was). I checked on these photos twice throughout the day, and both times every single one of them just made the families look uninterested or bored… The photos worked for Duel because of the combination of Score Count and Competition, but for Alton Manor I think the on-ride photos could make families hesitate to queue up for the ride sadly.
I just did it twice and oh my god! I was in awe. Some of the stuff in there was incredible. The tunnel finally working was a surprise too! Loved the clock at the end, it felt really disorienting. The mirror trick was also so cool. The ride was probably the highlight of my day.
It was okay, was not scary at all, could off done more to it to make it more scary,my wife got scared by one of the guys that was hiding near the shop entrance๐.
Been on the Wickerman, that was awesome,it chucked me left and right. Went on the Runaway Mine Train, that neva gets boring. Been on the River Rapids again that neva disappoints, shame bout the waterfall not working on River Rapids

Absolutely amazing! Loved every minute of the ride! Such a great re-do!
Tbh, watching the pov of this ride just makes it look quite boring. Very tame for towers I would say
Do you think this will be to scary for my kids? 7 and 10 year olds.
You two should take over this morning. I might watch it again.
