if the water turret swivels 360, may neptune have mercy on any successful boarders. its only non lethal at long range, if that thing turned and hit someone standing behind it they would get obliterated

I guess I just think different. Seems to me that if you put a properly armed marshal team on each boat it would cost FAR less than the current losses. Additionally, once would-be pirates figure out that ALL ships have heavily armed guards they will have no choice but to simply stop trying or die.

Why waste time and money on such things? Simply have few rocket launchers and armed security guards and take the fight to them. With rocket launchers you can just blast the pirate boat and make them sink.
Wait, Im sure rubber bullets might work…
If planes can have air marshals why cant freight liners have maritime officers aboard armed to the teeth with the latest in firearms like a 6.5 AR or a fuckin ma deuce.
This is way beyond stupid! It's like taking a knife to a gun fight. They need to mount a dozen M60s around the rail and "hose" them down properly when in range.
