Something interesting about the eye laser. If you have a shield equipped, you can block the eye laser and take little to no damage. Finally a reason to carry a shield solo

Also – what you might have not discovered – they changed mechanics for small early game elites (or only one >?) When you go outside Everfall and pass by Midnight Den where the wolves are, you now get a prompt about Quest Opportunity and it calls you to place feromones to lure the alpha. There seem to be spots inside the cave where you could place them, but they were not interactable for me.
This so much better now turn down the PVP And work on PVE
