Street Fighter is a franchise rich with weird and wonderful characters, packed with narrative twists and turns. There’s heroic tales of redemption, bitter feuds and rivalries, and even a giant green electric lad from Brazil. But the timeline is, frankly, an absolute mess.
Across 7 entries, the chronology of Capcom’s fighting game franchise has been continuously retconned and re-written into oblivion. Not only does the chronology jump around, with Street Fighters 4 and 5 taking place before Street Fighter 3 and Street Fighter 6, but each game has a multitude of upgrades and alternate versions, which effectively rewrite what has come before.
We’re here to do the hard work for you, and sift through the noise of Supers, Ultras, Hypers, Alphas and Turbos to provide you with a full breakdown. This is the Street Fighter timeline fully explained.

Who tf is Saga?
Somehow Bison returned
My tai ,satsui no haydo…. Youdon? Jeez learn how to pronounce stuff…
"Satsoooeee no HAYDOH"
If you're going to talk about Street Fighter, at least learn to pronounce A MAJOR PLOT POINT right.
Literally only said Ryu and Gouki correctly lol
the way you say Sagat and Satsui no Hado gives me a migraine
"Akoohmah" 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Sag-It 🤓
bro said saggot how many times??? 😭😭😭
You completely skipped the part where Sagat actually beats Ryu and the satsui-no-hado actually takes over Ryu for a second. Sagat comes to help Ryu out of the floor. Ryu does a shoryuken out of complete anger because he was possessed and cuts and also burns Sagat on the chest.
Alex best friend is Jean Reno
Your painfully british pronunciation in this video is offensive.
He doesn't even try to correctly pronounce words
Take a shot every time he says "literally". Or when they added an extra ad break. 😑
19:42 "And they're all out of pizza"
Hey-do lol.
Oh no. So does that mean that M. Bison is smashable??
Hado… ha-DOh.
Otherwise, this video presentation was quite good.
I wonder how how this Brit would pronounce 'hadoken'.
Hay Doh Ken or Hey Doh Ken…
The time line is me playing alpha 2 and 3. Third Strike. Sf6. Repeat. Throw some darkstalkers in there.
Rhymes with a bundle of sticks.
Saggot.
Emperor of My Tie 😂
The emperor of Mai Thai
Still think the aesthetic of Alpha in particular Alpha 2 is still the best iteration of Street Fighter. Or it could just be nostalgia of my Sega Saturn days. At least 30th Anniversary gave us a perfect arcade port of Alpha 2.
If this guy says "satsui no HEY-DOH" ONE MORE TIME 😤😤😤
Y’all always pick the wrong people to narrate these…
Satsui know hey-doe
You know how Marvel comes into the Street Fighter Universe, its usually called universal money hole when space and time bend when money is involved.
Do you need make a time line from kingdom hearts
20:35 I need that guy for acting 🏃♂️🍑🚶♂️🚶♂️🚶♂️
Q is G from Street Fighter 5 👇👇👇👇👇👇
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VivPApIEa5k
No mention of G, his story, or the potential connection to Q. For a lot of people, G is Q before he had something happen to him, (Project G being a common logical theory.)
Many of the same moves, and animations, and even a Q alternate costume.
Rose is not the good part of Bison’s soul! She was his student! That is a mistranslation stop spreading bs.
is it really that hard to say "HA-DO?"

SF2 will always be my favorite!
Hay-dough. Every time I hear it, I want to stab myself in the eye.
But where do the Final Fight series, Slam Masters, Rival Schools and Project Justice fit in the timeline?
The story in SF is literally useless LOL. Just want to fight as different characters and have fun beating my friends.
Satsui no haydo🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I cringed every time it was said
sat-sooey no haydow
An excellent video
Emperor of Mai Tai
Saggat
Satsui No HeyDoh
Choose your side Ryu Street Fighter or Jin Tekken
PSA for Street Fighter IV: a lot of the story cutscenes from the original version of Street Fighter IV were cut out entirely from Ultra Street Fighter IV due to the dev team being dissatisfied with their quality. Unfortunately, this means that a lot of the more crucial story-driven cutscenes were replaced with more generic ones that have little to do with the main story. This means that if you play Ultra Street fighter IV you miss out on a lot of stuff from the original game including the endings which show Ryu reuniting with Gouken, Gouken fighting Akuma, and pretty much all the endings which depicts Delta Red, Shadaloo, and the other Street Fighters raiding S.I.N.'s complex. In order to see these cutscenes you either need to get the original version of the game or look them up on YouTube.
You forgot to mention how Ryu and Chun Li became Power Rangers and fought using their mechazoids to defeat Z
