The Complete History Of Walt Disney World, Part 2 (1997-2021)

Welcome to Timekeeping. Over a year ago, WDWNT set out to document the year-by-year history of the Walt Disney World Resort. From the opening of a new land, to the minutiae of a store changing names. 50 episodes later, we have consolidated the highlights of these videos into two parts. This is part 2, which focuses on the complete history of Walt Disney World from 1997-2021 (the 50th anniversary).

  1. 48:24 i remember reading about this attraction in the 2008 birbaum's walt disney world for kids. the funny part of the attraction's info is "when he runs into a security guard, he panics, and hides the camera in his mouth (which breaks it, of course!)"

  2. How wonderful Mr. Disney was. Everything that is clean, ethic, beautiful, artistic, innovative, entertaining, moral…. that was Walt Disney. Please go back there, less you kill the heritage of a man that made life more beautiful to people on earth.

  3. Love it, but you said that Share a Dream Come True was replaced with Celebrate a Dream Come True but actually Disney Dreams Come True replaced Share a Dream Come True and then Celebrate A Dream Come True replaced Disney Dreams Come True, so the chronological order of the Parades was Share a Dream Come True, Disney Dreams Come True, then lastly Celebrate a Dream Come True!😁

  4. I’ve come back to this for a second viewing. Still incredibly informative on a re-watch.

It’s amazing how ‘generic’, ‘replaced with nothing’, ‘theming removed’, ‘for an extra fee’ and ‘bland’ pop-up so many times when going through the Chapek years. That encapsulates his tenure in PEP and as CEO.

Yes, he did some ‘good’ things when he was over Parks, Experiences and Products—but he was under the guise of Iger.

Longtime follower of your content—keep up the good fight! 🙂

  5. never understood why they didn't finish pop century I get it at the time but now surely opening another 3000 rooms in value area would be worth it to them and to actual be able to make since being called pop Century.

  6. Wow! Great information! I wish they would bring back something like the Millionaire game show. Something with Disney Trivia and Disney-themed prizes. The phone a stranger would be really fun, especially with text messages in the modern day.
