  2. Well at least Margaret and whoopi were always in the same room with each other and in each other's faces, this right here is typical with black lesbian roles it always looks like their separated or there's a green screen or something in between them their never free to go all the way in these big name movie and shows but they do EVERYTHING in the web series though🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿. Fantasia did way more on Broadway with Angela cause she was free back then now she's tied down in this so called, happy fake hetero "marriage"

  3. They did not need to highlight that……just left it as is….I never thought of it as a romance…..just a woman trying to show a battered a discard woman that she was worthy of kiss because as old as she was….no one has ever thought of her that way especially her demonic abusive husband….it ain't that damn deep.

  4. Wow…Oprah is completely out-of-touch. Ruined the spirit of a classic movie that empowers women of color and triumphs through life's adversity. The Movie Agenda: Is about Shug and Ceily's homosexual relationship. Movie miscasted Shug's to be a saint, when in the original Shug had selfish desires. This movie preaches all women are amazing and they can't do anything wrong. No accountability of showing black peoples struggles and pushing and bad agenda!!

  5. Most of these comments are ignorant. Clearly no one has read the novel series. Alice Walker is a writer, a creative, they are meant to “push the button.” The 1985 version is completely separate from this reimagined tale. It’s based off the broadway play. Once again a creative, gives the characters an imagination, a voice. This version brings light to 1985’s darker journey. There is joy and redemption in both films. Everyone has a right to their opinion and their perception. However, we can’t tell the author how to write the story based off a vision she was given. That’s like someone telling you to live and dream different. I’m a fan of the novel, plays and movies. But I know not everyone will take away what I do nor love what I love about this story. It’s simple, if you don’t like what you see, don’t support it. And to those of you who wouldn’t spend your money on this “trash.” Your money wasn’t needed to break the records of the highest grossing film for Warner Brothers, and opening on Christmas Day. You probably went to see Wonka anyway.
