I want to go down on Necropolis? Think of them like The Borg.
Ok so they call Riddick a breeder cause necromongers can't have children and breeder is what they refer to all non-necromongers as. Necromongers also cannot feel pain which is what that mark on the neck does to them so they aren't invincible, they just cant feel the damage done to them or at least it is numbed a great deal and explains why they seem inhumanly strong at times like when Vako breaks that dudes spine. And in defense of the shakey cam: they only seem to do it when it's on Riddick to illustrate how quick he seems to be and I actually love it for that purpose. Oh. And to explain his eyes; about 20% of male Furyans have them. They are the alpha furyans as they are the fastest, strongest, and most in touch with their animal side. Because of how Riddick was brought up, he's likely the most dangerous of his kind if they were still alive making him personify the strengths of his race to the extreme.
I think that's a famous line between couples. "That's what you heard, that's not what I said." Mr. and Mrs. are just awesome.
I think the next movie is better than this one. But this one is still enjoyable.
From everything I've seen, the "shine job" story about the eyes in a dark prison seems to hold up, and be the best reason for those eyes!

If you like Vin Deisel then you have to see him in the knockaround guys !! It's basically about the mob and their kids !!! A lot of well known and good actors older ones that have been around a long time !!! 1-10 it's a 9.5 !! Great story line and we'll acted with some very intense moments !!! Some nice twists and some great action !!!
Movie is terrible and makes absolutely no sense to be taking place in the fairly hard sci-fi setting of the first movie. Glad they basically ditched it all for the third film.

Necro is the Latin word for course, dead body, death, etc Monger is another Latin for trader, seller, merchant, etc. The word monger was actually a very good word to use but after the 16th century it got a 2nd meaning. Basically to describe someone like to spread lies and rumors for their own gain and push a certain agenda or someone that does bad stuff. Like a warmonger, wh-0remonger, etc.
I have always respected how straight up nerdy this movie is. Its not just a sci fi universe, its a deep lore, elemental witch ladies, undead empires, bio technology universe. It just throws you into it, like yeah you liked that low budget horror about a killer, here have this long epic about space politics and a killer. I find myself sort of intrigued by the sci fi lore, but its just so out of nowhere feeling.
The eyes do not happen for every furian. It's like in the new mortal Kombat when they discover their arcana. It is a sign of a great warrior when it does happen.
One of the few I like the theatrical cut better

Karl Urban was younger in The Lord of The Rings.
Chronicles went in a completely different direction. Probably too ambitious, especially to build up with a single movie. Riddick sent it back to Pitch Black, as far as the feel went. Possibly too little too late, though. It's popular, but in a very niche way. If they built more off of Pitch Black and slowly led into Chronicles-style epic story (especially the fantasy elements) I think it could have rivalled Star Wars.
The jump from science fiction to science fantasy never sat right with me. Like I had fun watching chronicles but I didnt enjoy it as much as I did pitch black

I love this movie, sure nothing makes much sense, but it is really awesome nonetheless
This one also has the best soundtrack. Whatever you think of it, alittle more fantasy! It’s at least different than the first.
