I thought I may as well use this to keep an updated list of responses/clarifications to comments, to help avoid confusion. See below:
    1. "Why do you hate Palworld? / Why do you hate a game you haven't even played?"
Please watch the video. I don't hate Palworld, and I have been playing it during and after putting together this video. You can be critical of something or at least acknowledge criticism of it without having a personal vendetta.
    2. "Nintendo is not the same as The Pokemon Company."
Big thanks to the user who pointed this out, I had mistakenly used them interchangably a few times in the video and meant to add a disclaimer. This is not strictly a meaningful distinction in all cases, due to Nintendo still being part of the TPC, but it is worth keeping in mind.
    3. "The 'copied' fan artist design was proven faked."
I discuss two suspected cases of fan artist plagiarism in this video. In the Hangyu case, it appears to have been a complete coincedence with the original artist discovering the Palworld design likely predated their own. In the Wixen case, which is moreso discussed, the original popular fan artist design predates Palworld's development by several years, and was not 'proven faked'. Will also update if more developments occur here.
    4. "The model comparisons were proven faked. / The account that made the comparisons admitted they lied and deleted their account."
I have yet to be shown any basis that the models were 'fabricated' for these comparisons – so far the only argument I have seen is that scaling the models to size is equivalent to 'fabrication', which as I mention in the video I find patently ridiculous. Your model does not become original work purely because you made it bigger. No, the account did not admit to 'lying' about ther comparisons. No, they did not delete their account (which is linked in the description).
    5. "The person who made the thread comparing the Palworld models only dislikes the game for annoying animal rights reasons."
I really don't care. The reasons people like or dislike games are up to them, and have no relevance to me unless it is shown that they were fabricating evidence against the game (which, again, I've yet to see).

  2. I think the fact that the pals only came into the development late kind of cements that they cut serious corners. I don't think you just decide to staple on a completely monster taming system onto a game like that whilst still wanting to make original designs.

  3. Let's say that there's a video game character named "Blue Fast Spikey Rodent", and it becomes popular enough to produce fan games.

If a fan makes a game starring Blue Fast Spikey Rodent and releases it for free, that's fine. If they make a unique game, staring their character "Red Quick Jagged Rat" and puts it on sale, explained that this is inspired by BFSR and is the kind of game that they wanted to see, so they made it themselves, that's okay too.

But if a company takes BFSR, recolors him red, and slaps in into a setting from a "Red Utilities Worker Stereotype" game, before stating, "This is our game. It was created whole cloth without any outside influence. Was it inspired by any existing properties? Possibly. But those properties have not effected the development of this original, totally-not-a-rip-off game. Give us money…"

Personally, I don't respect that sort of thing.

  4. Funny that PalWorld turned out to be just a shallow, flash-in-the-pan product the gamers that have to always have the latest thing went for.

They didn't pick it up because they thought it looked good or played well, they did what they do when everyone else starts huffing each other's farts about some new release.

While not a fan of Palworld or Pokemon I am eternally disappointed with this braindead consumer who needs the next shiny thing 24/7 that I have to share the space with.

  5. My issue with the game was yes–it's incredibly unoriginal. I'm not defending Nintendo–I'm defending all of the other games where the devs DID do the work to make something truly unique. Originality is greatly undervalued in the games industry–that's my biggest issue here. It was almost impossible to find a video about PalWorld that wasn't just brushing off all criticisms of it. Thanks.

  6. Such catharthis from this video … until Grizzbolt was included in the list of good designs since its like, the laziest copy design. It's just that it's of Totoro and not a Pokemon.

  7. pretty sure the nemesis system isnt unique. mount &blade has units that you can fight agaisnt and survive comeback weaker or stronger. its almost the same idea so no idea how they managed to copy right it

  8. There is no fair use law in Japan.
Both Pokemon and Palworld are based on Japan.
Nor Pokemon or Nintendo have taken any kind of legal action against Palworld yet, there's no legal action to take… If they had a case they would instantly obliterate the developers who also reside in Japan under the same legal system.

  9. Shadow of Mordor/War are actually pretty sweet and have a lot to say for themselves beyond just the nemesis system. They're not a paradigm-shifting masterpeice or anything, and it might seem to others like I'm reaching if I called them "great" (even though I think they are), so at the very least I'll say that they're quite good, and it feels a bit unfair to dismiss them as "mid".

  10. You do realize the guy who made those claims about the model theft admitted that he deliberately stretched the models to comparison out of spite? Your whole spite argument comes full circle.

  11. People like palworld because PocketPair is not afraid to implement stuff into their game, that targets an older Audience. While Nintendo is afraid to do so since they want to stay with their targeted audience of Children around 6~12 years of age. Which is why people mysteriously vanish never to be seen sort of violent dex entrys that get butcherd in translations for western audiences. so "Death" isn't really a thing in the world of Pokemon or nintendo everyone is just getting "defeated"
palworld also basically works on that "Defeat" system there is also a very carefully crafted AI at work for the mobs in palworld if you defeat anything near a flying nitewing or direhowl without being spottet they will run over to the "corpse" and eat it which will in fact after a few seconds dissapear when they do. you never see something like this in pokemon. Legends arceus could have done that but they didn't and thats one of the main factors people are mad and confused between the success of Palworld in contrast with Pokemon

  12. My opinion on the fame is pretty subjective to me but I'd probably get bored of it like it has a major focus on grinding and making the gamer feel fantastic like a lot of games but it's really just not what I go in to games for I think it lacks a story that is what makes games like pokrmon, fortnite, zelda so interesting ppl play those games for the feeling of discovery and exploration of a narrative about the world they're in a long with customisation and curation placing embedding the player as a moving part in the world palworlds feels like it was just made for edge Lords to enslave jigglypuff

  13. I think the funniest thing that nobody seems to know or care about (including this video) is that Pokemon is not actually a nintendo product. Nintendo does not own or produce pokemon at all they merely got publishing rights for console releases.
