The Canada Post strike is over, but it will take time to get back to normal, says spokesperson

Canada Post workers are back on the job after a gruelling four-week strike that halted deliveries across the country, but it could take time before operations are back to normal.

Like many businesses across Canada, Knifewear in Calgary has had to pivot when Canada Post workers went on strike a month ago. And it’ll need to continue with plan B to get packages delivered, even as postal employees return.

  1. With so many Canadians out of work today they would of gladly taking their job immediately without any hesitation and be great full to have a job !!! No essential services should be allowed to strike period !!!

  2. Canada Post service is terrible and very expensive. The solution is to private Canada Post, fire all those spoiled employees and start again from the scratch.
If Amazon, UPS, FedEx and others can do everything quick and efficient, we don’t even need spoiled Canada Post.

  3. Haven't seen any mail move in my city yet.

These Government workers better look over their shoulder when Polliviere gets in. I for one will be pushing for far less Government and far less public 'servant' over reach….far less.

  4. A few years ago I kept getting notices that, since I wasn’t home I would have to pick up my package at the post office. I work from home so there was no way that these packages were not able to be delivered to my house.
I called the post office to complain and the next day I found all my mail scattered on the ground. Then my next package, which was a wig for a cancer patient, was misdirected and didn’t show up for three months. Needless to say…I’m not a fan and I avoid Canada Post whenever possible.

  6. anyone else’s packages coming damaged? all my packages that DO NOT have the fragile sticker are fine but the ones with the fragile stickers are literally broken or look like they were dropped on purpose

  7. Where's the back log? The post offices have been closed way put anything in a mail slot? It wasn't going anywhere anyway. And surely to have something to do after a month should have been thought of before choosing to go on strike.
