The Callisto Protocol is now available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC and has garnered mixed reactions thus far. The PC version had major stuttering issues at launch, and even with the recent patch, there are still crashes and other problems. The Xbox Series X/S version also has problems though PS5 reportedly runs like a dream. Of course, you could argue for or against several things – whether it’s the encounter design, enemy types, combat or level design. The story, sadly, is a different matter. Major spoilers for the entire game and ending follow, so be warned.
Before Black Iron Prison was created, Callisto was home to a colony of miners called Arcas. After they accidentally discover an alien creature, the United Jupiter Company or UJC decides to harvest its larvae. It’s used to create a virus, which is then accidentally unleashed on Arcas. The UJC proceeds to liquidate Arcas and build Black Iron Prison, covering up the entire incident.

I have the really bad feeling Callisto Protocol 2 will follow the exact same story principle that Dead Space 2/3 did: Dani will attempt to expose the secret group -> secret group gains new fanatic followers that agree with their ideas, hence creating a new cult; government tries to use the virus for themselves -> government and cult have a war with the player in the middle; new virus outbreak in a new city -> cult discovers the virus/alien life was actually a bioweapon creared by higher powers etc.
The story is so good! If you can look past the optimizational/level & combat design issues, it's a really great game!
While it's not terrible, sometimes it's better to NOT re-invent the wheel. Had they made Dead Space 4 with a new title, it would have been fine.

Jacob should be the Protagonist of the CP franchise. The actor is great in the role and I think he should at least make it off of Callisto.
The only logical reason I can think of to cause him to forget was that implant he received. Think about it. The implant can receive memories. Why not block them. Which is also why he's captured. He's just evidence.
Why did Cole lock Jacob up? To cover up the smuggling? Tying up loose ends?
I still love that people with $2,000 computers can't run video games. I had no issues with my PS5. I also have a PC but I buy all my games on console.

The way the game ends so abruptly makes me think there was probably a lot more to the ending that they cut off so they could sell it as DLC

The game is a 10 out of 10
The game ends in a to be continued. Not as in we are getting a sequel. The game is by chapters. The next DLC is what happens next.

I think DLC will be like scale point for this game, either it will turn out to be good game or completely bad. I hope DLC will put this game in better position, I enjoyed it regardless.
