  1. too twisted, you can say it was in a way a homage to jacob's ladder the movie since he was dying and living the whole movie through his head through memories but . nah this is something else

  2. I understand now. In the original ending, when the doctor appeared, Jacob was already dead. She literally confirms this theory because if you actually listen to what she says here, she went there physically to get him, whereas in the original ending, she uses a hologram that was later interrupted by the alpha. The horde got Jacob in the end and I'm thinking that's where his baton actually failed on him. This also confirms that Jacob actually did kill the alpha, and what we saw after was nothing short but in part of his hallucination, it doesn't make sense that the alpha would return given his transformation and death, and the mere fact that it "doesn't make sense" in of itself plays a major part of the psychological essence within the DLC itself.

  3. As much as there is a clear indication that the sequel (if there will be considering the game got very bad reception) will feature Dani as the main protagonist, I doubt she will be playable. Imagine the outrage a female character dying in such a gruesome way. The same reason why we don't get Ellie as a co-op character in Dead Space 3. Most likely we will play as an unnamed dude.

  4. I half love and hate this ending.

I love it because it's a perfect end for Jacob. Not the one that we want, but it's the one he needed. He's never going to live with the guilt he caused for doing those jobs and causing the attacks. It's not entirely his fault, but his guilt will eat him alive. At the end of the base game, he was ready to risk it all for Dani, someone who he sees is a better person than him because she was fighting for the truth, which is why he sacrificed himself.

I hate this ending because it just kills off Jacob. I think Jacob would have been an iconic character next to Isaac Clarke if the devs are to ever make a sequel. Plus, it's Josh Duhamel. He's an amazing actor and he gave one of the best performances in Call of Duty.

    RIP our boy Jacob.

  5. Wow that's a harsh ending. I still liked callisto protocol. Not sure why they had to kill him off like that though i respect it. He wanted to redeem himself. In this awful way, he did.

  6. So no one is going to bring up the fact that Cap.Ferris reappeared in his somewhat human form at the end of the main story and jumpscares us? My guess is that he tore Jacob a new one and left his body in the tower and Doc managed to recover his body like she said. I knew from the beginning that something was off when the hallucinations started to hit. Either way, this was a tragic ending. And there's still many questions left unanswered.

  7. I swear half these comments must be from ppl just as brain dead as Jacob. You all realize that where he was at the end of the game exploded right? The Dr. literally says she found his body and dragged him….I dont understand why some of you are saying he didnt have to be mutilated like this as if she did it to him. This ending makes perfect sense and Jacob surviving after all of this would ruin the game. He felt guilty about what he did and wanted to make it right and WILLINGLY sacrificed his life for Dani's at the end of the game. Not everything needs a perfect or happy ending to be a great story.

  8. When we don't know the True ending, we thought there would be a chance of a sequel. But no, they just asked you more money to play 1 hour and a half of the same repetive and bad gameplay and get a finale that it changes nothing. I already thought that Jacob was Dead, and now there it is, the proof.

  9. Christ, took me about 10 attempts to beat Caitlyn and when i finally beat the game. I get introduced to the most horrific fate ive ever seen a video game character go through. I was legitimately in shock when i saw Jacob's mangled body and what the Doctor was doing to him. God, i was not prepared to see that.

RIP Jacob Lee, Its finally all over for you.

  11. Reminds me of love death and robots , the episode where the guy is actually in a purgatory state being siphoned but the creature was giving the guy cloaked reality. . When he finds out he decides to let the creature wipe his memory cause he couldnt handle it 😢

  12. I know that Jacob needed to be redeemed for the shit he did but I honestly would’ve like to see him go up against this cult like religion that this game has going, as if he is going to die then he’ll take down those who originally cause the outbreaks with him and can be redeemed that sort of way but I guess this sadly works too I guess

  13. I realized a hilarious alternate title for this DLC is "Jacob's Ladder".

After finishing this I immediately uninstalled the game and honestly, it felt pretty good. Pretty sad when your favorite part of a game is turning it off.

I wouldn't be terribly broken up if this was the final nail in Callisto Protocol's coffin, nor would I be terribly surprised. Barely 2 million copies sold after seven months against an expectation of 5 million? Studios have been closed for less, rest in pieces Callisto Protocol.

  14. One of the best games ever! This year was one of the best years in gaming with hells blockbusters released. Just wish FF16 would've offered more because it's not even an rpg anymore plus I've been waiting for years for release 😔 Can't wait for the two disc ff7 release next year! And hopefully RE9!

  15. It's okay everyone, he just needs a wee plaster/band-aid on that and he'll be better in no time.

In all seriousness, I thought the DLC's atmosphere was creepier than quite a lot of the main chapters, with Biobots demanding a more cautious approach to combat, and the hammer was a lot of fun to use. That ending, however, is cruel and unfair to those who paid full price for the Season Pass and waited for months, not due to Jacob failing to escape and dying, but because it was done in such a passive aggressive way.

  16. Shit ending, think they killed him off so they don’t have to make a sequel because of the bad reviews. Bad reviews/ reception can kill an IP and the devs said fuck it and killed the franchise 🤦‍♂️.

  17. God i hated this so much. Fucking make this an alternate ending and gives us a good Ending. How much of a hasle could it be create a decent cutscene ending of maybe a minute and let our boy live and escape!!!?

  18. So he got massacred by Ferris after the jumpscare ending of the regular game and kept alive by the doctor the entire time? Onestly it feels like they changed the whole ending sequence because the game flopped.

  19. Imagine if the data from Jacobs body is used to make a clone that is implanted with his altered memories if I remember correctly, that organization needed Jacobs DNA and losing him would be a brutal loss to their progress
