While I appreciate the science on why these things can be killed by man, I don’t think it’s remotely necessary to explain how something can fall to the most destructive force in nature. We’re empathetic as a species yet still unafraid to burn the world—because you know, just watching the world burn isn’t enough. And it’s not like there any hope for other intelligent life (on Earth, before people hit me with aliens) to grow to rival us because we kill that nonsense off before nature realizes what’s just happened.
Sadly, this is not the case for SD population wise anymore. Hundreds if not thousands ran from their big cities and came here. Average house wheat from 180k to 500k and rent from 800 to 1500. Us locals can’t keep up here, getting pushed out. My apartments got sold and they’re already bumping up fees and making new ones. I have to pay a fee to pay rent now. It’s just sad.
