  1. The Stern/Buscema/Palmer & Busiek/Perez runs are my favorite Avengers. Heroes Reborn and the run that preceded it were awful.

I get the comment about wanting to see the big names characters in team books but most of their development is saved for their main books. The secondary characters usually really get to shine in team books, as they aren't headlining anywhere else.

  2. I think i passed on this back in the day. A lot of the backgrounds look murky. Some of the figure drawing loos bizarre, like that woman wiht wierdly long lega on the last but one page and the colouring doesn't help at all throughout the entire book. Still, it struck a cord I guess. I think Marvel got Perez back on the title but for me it was too late.

  3. I loved this series when it launched, but in retrospect I think part of it was denial. X-Force #1 was my first US comic so I have a soft spot for Liefeld.

I was looking forward to hearing your opinions on Enchantress' 14-heads-tall appearance in that last scene though.

  4. The comic store I worked at got invited to visit with the Heroes Reborn teams at Oakland Wondercon when they were promoting it. Rob was fun to talk with , but he was so excited about getting rid of the A on Caps head. It was almost like his proudest contribution to the character. So weird.

  5. You guys gotta cover the busiek/perez avengers run. That’s one of the best aside from the early bendis’s new avengers and Hickman avengers run. Those ar the better examples with solid writing and art for the most part 😂. Because man, that avengers heroes reborn is… it’s something I can tell ya that. I’ve got nostalgia for it, but man, it’s something else.

  6. Swordsman was created much earlier than Buscema, specifically Avengers #19 by Don Heck. As for Swordsman here, he's not the original Silver Age character, Rob has his identity as Wade Wilson.
