He looks almost exactly like my big senior boy Rocky who I adopted in December after his owner died. When I got him he was 18 lbs but I was able to get him down to 12 😊

My theory about why cats have such a negative rap is perhaps because of how many people had cats in the past and knew they were self-sufficient so they didn’t bother much with them aside from feeding and litter. But cats are social creatures and they need love and affection and attention just the same as dogs. If they are ignored then they’re going to become antisocial and maybe grumpy because their emotional needs aren’t being met.

I miss my grandparents Maine Coon…. He was a massive sweetheart. Sadly he developed cancer and by the time anyone know about it the tumors had run rampant. He was the best teddy bear in the world and I miss him dearly. Loved that big doofus….

Aw. This reminds me of my old Maine Coon. He was only 22lbs, but he was so easy to groom, and was so gentle, and would let anyone pick him up. He loved to be held.
I just picture him saying “Can we just get this over with please? I haven’t eaten in 20 minutes!”

One of my friends really wanted a golden retriever puppy (they already had 3 cats and their dog passed a year prior). A few months later a 3-5 month old blond kitten wondered into another friend's back yard.
Eventually the blond kitten was homed with the first friend. It was a Maine coon (mix?), so we say that she did in fact get her golden puppy.

Naah, just kidding, he's a chill big boy. It's just that he hates being brushed and when we have to groom him he lets us know his displeasure in very clear terms. Believe me when I say that being hit by the paw swipe of a giant like this is painful and not just because of the monster claws.
