Tower Defence (or Tower Defense) games have a long history where you build structures, buildings, turrets, or towers to defend against swarms of enemies. They could be bugs, monsters, zombies, viruses, or armies but at the end of the day you need to survive against the hordes in waves. In 2025, we see the Tower Defending genre evolve from the traditional isometric or top-down view to many being third or first-person FPS kind of games.

Great list that I didn't know I needed ! Toy Shire was already on my wishlist, but I've added Dawn of Defense, that one looks most up my alley ! Dungeon Warfare 3 and Nordhold are on my 'wait for general eception' list.

Ooh, Toy Shire looks so nice and quaint~! Tower Defence is not exactly my genre (except for the first Plants vs. Zombies, that was a classic :3), but if it was, I'd certainly be interested in that game the most! ^ -^

I used to like tower defense. Don't remember the last good one I played. Probably Defender's Quest. Looking for the sequel to that, but it's been a decade since. I wanted to go back to the original, but they broke all the mods when they released an updated version.
