  1. Hi Molly, I use to work at the ET adventure that was located at Universal Hollywood. The character in need of help, as mentioned by ET's teacher Botanicus, is actually named Tikli Moot Moot ("Tikli") who "needs ET's magic healing touch." Botan says, "Magdoll needs you!!" He also mentions that ETs friend Olvidon is very ill, and later during the halfway point of the ride we meet Tikli, Olvidon and Magdoll as ET heals them and restores his home planet. Having worked at that attraction for 3 years, I heard his spiels (he's got two: "ET Where are you?" and "Earth People, Heed My call!") countless thousands of times as "Botan" (the nickname us cast members gave him) was my favorite character and I can still quote him and Steven Spielberg's preshow spiel verbatim regardless of not having seen that attraction since it's closure. Botan appears every 20 minutes and I absolutely love how the fog effects hid the fact that he actually lowers into the rock he's standing on. Before I worked there that effect use to fascinate me cuz it use to have me tricked into thinking he flew away. Working there gave us cast members the ability to explore and clean the sets after hours, in addition to conducting emergency evacuations where we got to be so close to the animatronics many of us took pictures with them. But during business hours I use to love sneaking backstage to Botan's holding room specifically just to watch him rise up into the fog. The fog effects associated with him and the ones in the first 3 chase scenes filled the forest queue and is quite the view to see from the loading platform when there aren't many guests passing thru. The downside of working there was having to mop and push water that which as result of the fog collected on the floor of the chase scenes, because it was gross, black and moldy which provided the smell of nostalgia mixed with pine. I slipped in that water one day in front of guests during an evacuation while rushing down some steps in the log climb scene which segways into chase scene 3, and my uniform pants were torn and covered with black mold. I was so embarrassed! Before the ride closed, I stole one of the pine air fresheners used in the queue. I found one of the automatic air freshener canisters laying around in the terminal room where we take names and hand out passports and I snuck it out cuz I wanted my house to smell like that forest. — it was a generic brand and the ET Adventure uses TONS of those. Not wanting to get caught, I only stole it that one time. #Memories #glad I did it #funtimes

  2. I just want to add as a fun fact to the Jimmy Fallon ride – the reason they would do that paging system for the ride is because that's what happens when you are part of the audience for the actual Tonight Show! Your party gets assigned a color and maybe a number too, and they'll call you back when you're ready. So it's a very ~authentic~ experience!
