  1. The one sad thing missing from the new version is the unresolved notes as John sings “because of youOUou” he actually wavers between two notes whereas on the Beatles version it resolves up melodically. The unresolved was way more powerful and can be heard on the original demo

  2. Forget the AI technology, that's just a very useful new tool without which we wouldn't be discussing this, it's the resulting overall sound Rick is talking about, and it's not the Beatles we knew, how could it be? But compare it to the new Stones album made by all the living members in 2023 – does that sound like the Brown Sugar Stones? No, they used modern technology to achieve the sound they wanted, it's different but it's not vintage, and I guess if you were new to the Stones you could well really like it, but for the rest of us it's never going to top the old sound. So Rick is right to say the Beatles stopped at the right time, perhaps the Sones should have too?

  3. AI technology just amazes me. In 1994 the combined might of George Martin, Jeff Lynne, Paul, George and Ringo and the best and most advanced technology money could buy could not separate the vocals from piano on that demo. And if they couldn't do it, no-one on Earth could for love nor money.
Today you just upload this to a website, klick a button and, Hey Presto!, vocals and piano separated to absolute perfection in seconds.
Having dome some very simple and primitive audo recording stuff, I am simply dumbfounded as to how that works. I remember separating stereo channels, inverting one and hoping that you could somehow separate something out of the resulting mess. Results were mixed and mostly terrible. This is amazing.
