On the 17th April 1961, the 1500 Cuban Exiles of Brigade 2506, with expected support from the CIA and the US military, begin to land on their homeland of Cuba. Their mission is to inspire the population to topple revolutionary leader Fidel Castro’s Communist regime. The plan is ambitious. US President JFK worries about the political implications of overt US support for the operation, and so it quickly falls into chaos.

Is what the narrator says, and yes I read this in a book on the Bay of pigs invasion where typical Latino macho swagger is impossible to keep secrets. One was quoted as saying that the invasion was a secret as Christmas Day. Trainees would go off base and brag about their training and what they were going to accomplish, while drinking and partying in Florida, and then having their pictures taken by the club photographer. Another great quote from the book describes how you get three Cubans together talking and it sounds like a riot

US does indeed have a bloody history and legacy, specially with weaker countries, what is most astonishing is that the claimed the moral high ground almost from day one- while they were butchering the American natives, and taking their land. Today, the US is still trying to claim the moral high ground, but of course, now the World knows better – and this, I feel is why the us is a decaying empire.

The Dulles bros are responsible for not only Vietnam, but nearly all of our foreign coup ideas/blunders, which have led to many of our worst problems + are why Putin/his ilk are so paranoid about the US. The KGB “training manual” literally still discusses them specifically and portrays the Dulles brothers’ MO as the US’ current MO despite the fact that it’s not.

So this was the US response when their neighbouring country Cuba had just a communist government (supported by Cubans) and only had diplomatic relationship with the USSR (No military involvements, events od Cuban missile crisis occurred next year),
and they expect Ukraine ( Zelensky regime is not supported by Eastern Ukrainians) invite NATO into Russia's backyard and expects Russia to do nothing…
