While going through my catalog in general to try to organize and capture some dates (such as when I had originally completed a track, or official mix/master publishing dates), I was reminded of many of the older tracks I had not been back to listen to in a while.

With Uusia Maailmoja being the 123rd completed track, I thought I’d go back to an earlier one, this one here, the Augur of Adversity being the 16th I had finished. At the time (September 2020), I had just finished the collection “A Case in the Defense Of” and thought I would begin experimenting with Vocoders, Audio Receivers, and Automation, in anticipation of my first attempts at vocals (which did not happen for a few years in earnest).

My learning these new tools and trying out different approaches and automations led to a project that was not really meant as a song or to be something to listen to at first, but as I kept learning in it, it started to grow on me. And here is the end result. It became the first track on Reading Without Sleeping – with several tracks on the album touching on some of the concepts from Don Quixote though it not being quixotic.
