Artemis, the mission aiming to establish a human-inhabited Moon base, as explained by Charlie Duke, one of the 12 astronauts who walked on the Moon.
Artemis is an international effort divided into three primary missions. Artemis I successfully launched in 2022 as an uncrewed test flight. Artemis II, planned for late 2025, will carry astronauts around the Moon. Artemis III, along with future missions, will focus on crewed lunar landings and the construction of a lunar base to support eventual human exploration of Mars.
