I guess moviegoers of the the 1930s were, compared to me, supermen and -women. I sure as hell am lost when in the very first reel the movie carefully introduces some 20 different characters. Maybe it was more than that. Anyway, I'm completely at sea, with all those characters, and haven't the faintest idea who is who.
I stopped watching at 5 minutes in.
