Too many civs and new stuff makes the game worse. Somehow game creators have become content crazy.

great game, I think it was an early gg. Liereyy had more villagers, resources, and had just clicked up.
The moment Liereyy had knights+crossbows and didn't do rear attack to kill those monks cost him gg.
Ended up buying AOE 2 DE because of your podcasts T90 and i have noone to play with or whatsoever but this game is a nostalgia to me so its still worth it and gonna enjoy it. Thanks for the podcasts and great work as usual

This is so fucking broken, disgusting and painful to watch.
You can kinda screw monks over by deleting the unit thats about to be converted so the enemy doesnt get controll of it. Waste the time of the monk at that moment and can protect you when cahrging in
Wow, this is an insane game. Liereyy adapted extremely well, just got too greedy with going imp. I think he should''ve kept on making army.
Say what you will about Arena, but I feel like no other map can produce such craziness!
Btw with any civ other than Portuguese, Dracken should have lost this one 100%. What a game though!

Dave's idea of divebombing vils was the correct call. The best way to stop the push from snowballing. Those vils made so many Feitorias that swung the game

I don't think the Red is dead. He has a lot of resources banked in. Yes, his army doesn't have the imperial armor. However, he has enough resources to make semi-effective counter and build defensive buildings.

I've done my fair share of games against Portuguese to know that making a defensive castle without a viable UU against them is a waste.
If you have redemption monks, you should make them every single time and go with a 1TC imp play.
Once you treb or BBC down the first castle you will have enough breathing room to get some form of a eco going, which will no doubt be better than multiple feitorias.
With poles you should lose this matchup, you have the options you need, and your eco is great to get to imp faster.
Cheap knights is definitely a contender, and it turned out to be a great play against the eco, but you are then stuck in castle age, against portuguese that don't need villagers to have an eco.
Nerf that ficking shit.
