Welcome to this special edition of Anime 101: Weekdays
Today, I will be looking back on the Sci-Fi Channel and what they did back in the 90’s to bring more Anime to the USA.
Join me as I go though lists of the movies / TV / OVA’s that they showed throughout the years before Sci-Fi turned into SyFy.

What is your favorite looney tunes character of all time
Great stream Brandon. Seeing those ads brought back memories of Sci-Fi Channel at its best. I will definitely check these show out.
Another great vid man! Sorry I missed it live. Have you gone over The Guyver series yet or are you planning too? loved the movies but never saw the anime.
I still remember the magazine ads pushing the Sci-Fi Channel before it started up. My hopes were so high, back then. Too bad it devolved into a crap factory.
I feel like since the campaign to bring back Toonami was so successful why can't we bring this back?? I missed out on this era of anime honestly it would be cool to have an alternative place for like the more mature and graphic titles like back then, but I guess with streaming now there's so many options to watch the new and retro stuff maybe it was a dream for another time
Oh yeah, this was my first exposure to anime as well, specifically the late night airing of Armitage the Third for Anime '97 hosted by Apollo Smile. I was an instant addict and immediately started recording every anime I could watch on VHS. Pure nostalgia, thanks for the walk down memory lane!
The fact that berserk (old one) has never shown up on this channel is criminal but had its reason, sci fi channel used to not air TV-MA programs, so berserk would have had a TV-14 rating and the last episode would have been ruined.
