My take is that the dad was abusive, but with the best intentions and love for the kids. Much better than the mom, who abandoned all 3 of them and found an easier family more to her taste.

As you can probably tell from my username, I'm on the spectrum myself. I don't know of any other action movies where the hero is autistic, so this one is very appreciated. My autism isn't quite as severe as Christian's, but he's way smarter and tougher than I could ever hope to be.
I kinda like this movie, not sure why it isn't known too much.

that's not a poor mom, that's a sorryass excuse for a mother who abandoned her sons! the dad's the one who was always there for his children, he raised both of them to be strong, independent men who can defend themselves & others, the father was not abusive at all, he's not a monster, he's not twisted & his intentions are completely pure! he was teaching his kids the harsh reality of things, the dad's methods ultimately did work!

I love it when ben character is stimming and isnreally exited about his special intrest with annas characters its sooo cute. Also often times neurodivergencies run in the family they are genetic so I feel like Braxton could be autistic too or adhd.
