OMG I actually started watching Valarian again last month and thought the same thing about the starting scene.
die hard 3 is not to forget one of the best opening ever seen !!!!!!
Seriously? You can't pronounce "Thus Spake Zarathustra"?
🎉😅 thanks 😊
Can anyone tell me which movie the video thumbnail is from?
Blade Runner?
My sister took me to watch E.T. at the cinema when I was a kid. And I cried so much, was so sad for E.T.
No love for The Dark Knight?
Was hoping the opening of "Contact" would make this list
14:16 – Actually, it was Ennio Morricone's synth-heavy score that set the mood. Not John Carpenter's.
No Pitch Black here? No fun!
You left X-Men Days of Future Past, Those sentinals were scary and the opening scene was bone chilling
No love for A Quiet Place?
Detritus= deh try tis
NOTE: In 1977, it was just called, STAR WARS! the title, A NEW HOPE was added later.
"….and involves a lot of loud Schwarzenegger noises." LMAO 😂
The opening twenty minutes of "UP" are brilliant, funny, touching and heartbreaking. With almost no dialogue, it is "show, not tell" at it's finest.
What about Treasure Planet?
Wall-e is amazing 😂😅
Valerian is good.
does Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom count? The opening tribute to Buxby Berkeley is brilliant'
what about Brainstorm?
how about Titan A.E.
Saving private Ryan ??!?!!?
Absolutely insane that someone made this list, put thought into it, and then didn't include the definitive opening sci-fi movie scene, Blade Runner.
how is Jurassic park sci- fi??
R we living in a computer simulation asked the matrix and so did total recall
Let me commend your narrator for pronouncing "Kaneda" from Akira properly, not like "Canada." Kudos.
Valerian opening was simply awesome. Great mix of imagery and music
Blade runner is not on here??? Blaspemy. You also forgot Alien. Come on man!
I just knew this list would open up a Pandora box of "You forgot this", "How 'bout that movie?",…😂 This is what Looper wants for fueling the YT algorithm.
Gravity is the most beautiful film ever made.
Valerian: The scene right after that first one on the alien planet is awesome and beautiful, Just needed a better script.
Starship Troopers the book v Starship Troopers the movie: prime rib v scrapple. Cheers….
I enjoy Valerian, although I don't always understand it. And i always remember what I thought when I first saw the previews. "I have no idea if this is going to be a good movie or not, but visually it's gonna be stunning."
Apropos of nothing, back in the VHS rental days, I once saw Akira sitting squarely in the kiddies section. It was a cartoon, you see…
hmmm… Terminator 2 is better than Terminator?
and I suppose Aliens is also better than Alien! 🤣
that makes sense to any clueless blockuster lover!
The Fifth Element (a promise unfulfilled).
What movie was the thumbnail?
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith's opening sequence is one of the best ever and should definitely be on this list.
Nice to see Wall-e get respect.
Scream. That was a refreshing recall to the horror movies of the past.
Strar trek (jj Abrams reboot) opening is not on the list ??!!!…..oh Come onnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!
Zarathustra spoke. He never spake (whatever that is)
Valerian may be average at best, but the intro nailed it. book is superior though.
