Shorter story on that: My aunt found my cousins collection of original Spawn comics from the 90's (we're talking #1 onward) in pristine condition. She took it to a comic shop to get an appraisal; shop offered her something ridiculous like 75 or 100 dollars. I did a 15 minute search online for prices, and the collection was worth closer to 1500.
