Season 6, Episode 12, “Mr. Monk Goes to the Bank”: It’s nighttime, and two cops are outside the West Bay Trust bank, writing a parking ticket for an illegally parked SUV. They mention that the bank had just been robbed the day before but tonight there’s no evidence of trouble. As the cops drive away, however, a glimpse inside the bank proves that not everything is as it seems: four people are trapped inside the bank’s vault. The unfortunate foursome? Monk, Natalie, Capt. Stottlemeyer and Lt. Disher.

Monk Synopsis: Adrian Monk (Emmy®-winner Tony Shalhoub) was once a rising star with the San Francisco Police Department, legendary for using unconventional means to solve the department’s most baffling cases. But after the tragic and still-unsolved murder of his wife, Trudy, the devastated Monk becomes obsessive-compulsive. His psychological disorder has caused him to develop an abnormal fear of virtually everything: germs, heights, crowds… even milk. Monk’s condition costs him his job, but he’s back as a police consultant despite the unique challenges he encounters in his everyday life. These challenges lead Monk to hire a personal nurse, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), who is always there to offer her assistance, even with the simplest of tasks (like organizing his sock drawer). Her less-than-subtle prodding keeps the “defective detective” on track in his investigations, as well as in his efforts to convince Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) to allow him to return to the force.

I immediately suspected they were all in on it when all their stories matched up perfectly. While there aren't that many people there's enough to make me question how none of them had even a slight difference in their stories.
I haven't seen this episode so this clip was all I could go by but I might of heard something about it and just forgot.
Notice just how shiny Adrian's dress shoes are?
🙂👍🏻
Monk is funny though
Random detail but at 1:29 I like the attention to detail to give Monk super polished shoes, as he surely would work to have even in this high-stake cover job.
I find it funny that the actress for Madge is the same woman from “Mr. Monk Goes to The Asylum” episode who had anger issues.😉
I’m surprised monk would touch a toothpick
you should keep clips of the same episode together instead of 5 days apart, cause of your last clip from Mr Monk goes to the bank, i went and finished the episode. That caused a dislike on this video.
3:05 Never want to miss a "Here's What Happened."
Wouldn't it have been a little suspicious how well all the witnesses' stories lined up so perfectly? Especially about such a high stress incident?
The best part was Randy cussing the h*ll out of the Silver Statue Performer
I wonder If Columbo and Monk teamed up who would solve the case first ??
Thank goodness for Adrian Monk keeping the world safe for us all.
They've show almost all of this episode except for the part j want to see
Trudy saved them love this ep
Monk Come Back! You left the seasons un-even! Complete the last 2 and make it an even 10! I would shoot for 100 seasons in my opinion; Like 100% complete 😉
Even my new shoes can never compare to Mr Monk's
Anyone else bugged that Monk did not wear gloves while touching possibly used toothpicks?
It's good to see Monk back in uniform. It's sad that after all the things he did to solve crimes, they had such a hard time giving him back his badge.
Now I remember why I stopped watching Monk. His phobia was never really clearly explained. He's supposed to be an obsessive germaphobe with a distinct need for order. Monk had more than OCD! He seemed more autistic to me. It was never clear if Trudy's death triggered what was always there or her death put it into hyper mode. If Monk is someone that is repelled by germs and all things disgusting why would he use his bare hands to pick up a single toothpick let alone pour out a trash can of six toothpicks and then touch 'em?🤮🤮🤮Not even I would do that WITH gloves! Then Monk freaks out bc they were all trapped in a bank safe. Uh, you guys were all just investigating a bank robbery. The captain of a SF precinct + a detective are with you. Those two can't go MIA for long. Help is coming the minute the captain misses a radio call. Duh!
This episode irritated me bc the bank employees plan was so stupid!! When you decide to steal from a bank take enough money to live out the rest of your life in another country bc the law will catch up to you if you stay stateside. Why go through that elaborate scheme of faking a bank robbery? Do some wire transfers. Put the money in a Swiss/Jamaican bank movies always tell the FDIC can't touch. Also take some cash for incidentals. Than MOVE to countries that don't extradite. New comfy lives!
I want more family-friendly detective shows like this. When I was growing up, my whole family used to love watching the latest episode every week after dinner.
