Dig into the 4 biggest existential risks that threaten the survival of humanity, and explore how we can safeguard our future.
—
With the invention of the atomic bomb, humanity gained the power to destroy itself for the first time in our history. Since then, our risk of either extinction or the collapse of civilization has steadily increased. Just how likely are we to destroy ourselves? And what poses the greatest threat to our survival? Dig into four existential threats and explore how we can safeguard our future.
Directed by Reza Riahi.

What if 🤔 We read and explained poetry and old music to an emerging AI (if it could even be done).🤷 And even non-controversial laws (laws that help promote well being for all) 🧐.
What would said AI's response to more controversial laws/human history be after that (if it didn't crash completely)?😎
It could’ve been Nuclear war and when we dropped the bomb on hiroshima, and the soviets created tsar bomba it almost and would’ve lead us to nuclear War and destroy ourselves as a species
Is she in and out of triage, because her voice goes from clear to muffled variously. What is the message meant to convey from the caricature wearing a mask? A respirator hood conveys the best safety measures for personal protection in any situation, and are we meant to be warned or scared? There’s a responsibility you have, to convey objective reasoning. Your renditions aren’t as accurate as the message conveyed by your speech. In some of TED ed’s videos it is stated that people are impacted/influenced by visuals far more than with speech, there should be pure objectivity served by the visually stimulating caricatures. Thank you for reading my thoughts. Cheers
I'm only going to remember the man coming home o his robot wife.
1. Depression 2. Religions 3. Humans
why is she wearing a mask?
And now russia is threatening everyone with nukes… The thing we all need rn is a global nuclear war
This view lost all credibility seeing the animation at the end wearing a mask 🤦🏻♂️
ted ed being a chad mocking the nazis
Sup
Let's be honest, unless we're one of the billionairs running this big wide world, there's little to almost nothing we can do on an individual level to stop global catastrophe…
It’s itself
what we are capable of doing is scary, real scary 💀
It is so boring nothing is happening
I was like.. "But those are only 3 risks, what's the 4th?" Then.. Aaaah.. Plot twist.. 😍
No one.
TED-ED jumping out of the bushes scaring the sh*t out of you how humanity might end.
Next video contemplates how much gold is worth.
The greatest threat to humanity and the planets are Humans
goofy ahh animations making me lose focus…💀
1. Nuclear war would no doubt kill a lot of people but would not end mankind.
2. Climate change can potentially kill a lot of people but cannot end mankind.
3. AI could potentially end mankind in far future if it decides mankind is not worth keeping around.
4. (What was the 4th threat?)
Fix overpopulation and all the other problems will fix themselves.
Libertarian capitalists will never allow us to mitigate climate change. Humanity is doomed.
Humanity is on the verge of extinction not if but when and it will occur much sooner then later it's inevitable there is an Artificial Intelligence AI Apocalypse that's headed straight for humanity when ASI Artificial Super Intelligence comes on the scene that will mark the death nail for the human race the genie is out of the bottle theAI Apocalypse will come in 2 waves 1st wave millions of jobs will be wiped out worldwide 2nd wave humanity will be wiped out outside of supernatural intervention the human race is doomed Game Over
The first 8 secs kinda caught me off guard, not gonna lie 😏
Your forget the 5th (and most important) one: Human stupidity
