  2. Spirit Island was a hard and sad miss for me. It’s my number one favorite game but the campaign was atrocious. A disservice to the game. If they didn’t have such a strong following already I’m pretty sure it would have failed miserably. I’m still excited for the new content but the campaign itself was so bad and uninformative I had a hard time backing it. Literally the only reason I did was too support the game. Hope they are able to pull it together and do something better for their next campaign. Lol convince them to launch on gamefound! That’d be a great start! Loved all your other picks btw.

  3. I was super interested to back Last Light, but I have had mixed experiences with the quality of Grey Fox games and so I decided I would wait until it delivered and see the reviews. Again more about the quality of the components and not as much the game. Unsettled I waited on since I know there will be more options in the future and I can wait. I am also still waiting for my Vindication pledge. My favorite would be Castle of Burgandy. I backed for the new stuff for Oathsworn and I already have The Great Wall.

  4. Stonewall Uprising was a great Kickstarter campaign that delivered in the same year of the funding. It is a deck builder that covers the LGBTQ+ civil rights movement from the 60s to 80s. It is definitely showcases how board games can raise awareness on real world issues. Without crowdfunding, I don't think the game would exist.

  5. These are always fun videos! My favorite/most anticipated campaigns from 2022…
    – Cthulhu DMD Fear of the Unknown
    – Marvel Zombies
    – Anastyr
    – Deep Rock Galactic
    – Unsettled
    – Dune: War for Arrakis

I'm no good at ranking things but C:DMD would probably be number 1 just because I have the original and love it, so it's just more of a thing I love. The others are mostly based on early feedback and hope, lol.

  6. We came really close to backing Encyclopedia but ultimately passed. This morning I found someone local who is selling their copy for a deep discount. Picking it up tonight and hope to get it to the table next weekend!

  7. CDMD would have been my favorite if they would have given the board game backers exclusvie comic book volumes for free as stretch goals they could sell on ebay to comic book collectors to offset the cost of buying the board game content from comic book collectors on ebay that received free exclusive board game content as part of their comic book campaign (Vol 1)/pre-orders (Vol 2). Karma is a bitch… anyway 7/10 backed. Not bad. Skipped Raft, Slay, and Quodd.

  8. I’m going to be so excited if 20 Strong is good. This year I end d up bringing Rolling Realms on my business trips, but a Chip Theory Games compact solable game is so much more enticing.

  9. I backed 4 of your 10, but I think I'd list Sleeping Gods: Distant Skies as my personal #1 since it takes a game I like a lot and re-implements it to make it even better.

  10. Oh, man, there were some good campaigns this year. Cthulhu DMD S3 does look awesome! And the Moonrakers expansions are going to make that game really shine. But for me, the best campaign this year was Kingdoms Forlorn by ITU. Oathsworn is getting all the love right now, but I have AT:O en route from Poland, and I think it is going to stay the test of time. And Kingdoms Forlorn looks even better. ITU is pushing the boundaries and making just plain cool stuff. I can't wait!

  11. Have you played Grand Austria Hotel? The mechanisms of Encyclopedia reminds me of G.A.H. both have cards you put cubes on then score. And both have cards that give you cool abilities or rewards. Both are dice driven. I think Grand Austria Hotel is a better game. Atleast at 2 players. The expansion module rule may make it better for the 3-4 player count.

  12. I couldn’t afford to back slay the spire so I bought the game instead. Great fun, very addictive. That being said I’m not enjoying the “third” character at all (the orb dude)!

  13. My top kickstarters this past year of those I backed are probably…
    10) Thousand Empty Light (Solo RPG)
    9) Pathways
    8) Dark Venture
    7) Motor City
    6) Atlas Lost – Rise of the New Sovereigns
    5) Mind MGMT Reprint
    4) Septima
    3) Castles of Bergundy
    2) Kingdoms Forlorn
    1) Cthulhu Death May Die

  14. I'm so confused why Encyclopedia is a game you LOVE so much, and I find very simplistic and single-pathed for victory. The only viable path to victory is one or two huge publishing acts at the end of the game. What am I missing?

  15. Hi Alex Cthulhu DMD my 1st choice also, backed also legacy of Yu, gulpax for roll players adventures, and dawn of Ulos because is from thunder works, so it has to be :).. i'm very upset though with CMON comics and the price… will not acquire the DMD and Zombicide due to the VAT and transport prices…a pity…

  16. Cthulhu Death May Die season 1 arrived yesterday. Hope to get it to the table soon so that I can decide rather to raise my $1 pledge for the CDMD Fear of the Unknown Campaign to a full pledge or not. Already a Lovecraft and CMON fan, so I have a feeling it's a foregone conclusion. Love Encyclopedia but have only gotten it to the table solo so far. Excited about Race to the Raft and the CoB. Had to pass on the others.
